About the job

As the Director of UX for Real World Journeys (RWJ), you will be the visionary design leader shaping how billions of users explore, plan, and experience the world around them. You will lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary User Experience organization to create intuitive, content-rich, and deeply personalized experiences across Google's most visible surfaces.

In this role, you will be positioned to drive step-function advancements in how users interact with Google. You will advocate for the integration of GenAI Agentic capabilities and Large Language Models (LLMs) to unlock previously infeasible user journeys-such as planning a comprehensive weekend getaway with integrated transit, lodging, and dynamic itineraries. You will work with a high degree of strategic autonomy, partnering closely with Vice Presidents and Senior Directors across Product Management and Engineering to ensure cross-surface cohesion between Search, Geo/Maps, Discover, and YouTube.

Additionally, you will be a builder and high craft/design strategist who grows in complex, matrixed environments. You will not only define the creative north star for RWJ but also cultivate a resilient team culture that empowers designers, researchers, and writers to do the best work of their careers.

In Google Search, we're reimagining what it means to search for information - any way and anywhere. To do that, we need to solve complex engineering challenges and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on.
