Job Title: Director, Transformation and Operational Excellence
Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid)
Duration: Full Time

About Job:
The Transformation and Operational Excellence Director will provide strategic support to the Vice President in enhancing the overall effectiveness of the transformation team, in particular: (1) measuring enterprise change effectiveness, implementing recommendations to enhance and scale the client's Way of Change; (2) designing and implementing a portfolio management and governance process and pipeline, to manage overall enterprise risk; and (3) partnering with our talent, learning, and communication functions to integrate the Clients Way of Change in our cultural DNA. This role will play a key role in implementing new processes and experiences across the enterprise, ultimately driving best practices across Client clinics.

The Transformation and Operational Excellence Director should possess a strong business, strategic & analytical acumen, with experience bringing recommendations to senior stakeholders; strong project management and creative problem solving, able to manage multiple project workstreams simultaneously; and experience executing change management, and/or process improvement at scale. The Director will partner with teams across the enterprise, to build consensus, collaborate, and drive ownership and should be a strong communicator, able to lead through influence. They will also lead a team of mid-level and junior professionals and should be strong team leaders, building the overall capability of the team.

This role will require working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment, with a high level of emotional intelligence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensure effective execution of change governance (Air Traffic Control, Cleared for Launch, etc.) processes, driving continuous improvement to deliver value to our stakeholders
  • Assess current measures of change effectiveness and develop and implement recommendations to enhance the consistency and effectiveness of change interventions
  • Implement portfolio tracking and governance process for all enterprise initiatives, to drive differentiated teammate experience, more efficient use of resources, and innovation
  • Leveraging technology platforms (e.g., SmartSheets) to establish a process for tracking the impact, progress, and value of enhancements and initiatives, with dashboard reporting across all initiatives and enhancements that provide real-time insight of impacts at enterprise, Palmer, role, and initiative levels
  • Partnering with talent, learning, and communication functions to integrate the client's Way of Change in our cultural DNA
  • Manage a portfolio of small change initiatives, implementing standard tools and templates to drive consistent adoption and outcomes
  • Continue to evolve a standard practice for change management and deployment and lead adherence to those methodologies throughout the team and organization
Enterprise Portfolio Management (Governance)
  • Ensure execution of regular governance activities through Air Traffic Control (ATC) process with a high level of service excellence to partners and stakeholders
  • Develop recommendations for portfolio tracking and governance process for all enterprise initiatives, oversee implementation and ongoing assessment
  • Assess pipeline to drive insights and recommendations, to drive differentiated teammate experience, more efficient use of resources, and innovation
  • Build out the capability to deliver consistent project management across the enterprise through effective framework, tools, and resources
Change Strategy and Deployment
  • Understand the Client's strategic business roadmap and ensure the change strategy aligns with to roadmap
  • Develop a team of internal change management consultants that support medium to small-size projects in an advisory or coaching model around creating actionable deliverables for all change management levers: communications plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, resistance management plans, etc
  • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders
  • Define and implement the appropriate level of engagement with project partners and sponsors
  • Continually evolve Runway's deployment standards, tools, and templates by industry best practices while incorporating the client's unique approach
  • Partner with talent, learning, and communication functions to integrate the client's Way of Change in our cultural DNA, delivering a consistent teammate experience
Project Management
  • Manages multiple project workstreams simultaneously, reporting on key milestones, status, delivery, and risks
  • Communicate any adjustments that are made to direction, activities, resources, pace, schedule, etc. as required to align projects with evolving Business Partner priorities, objectives, and expectations
  • Leverage technology platforms (e.g., SmartSheets) to establish a process for tracking the impact, progress, and value of enhancements and initiatives, with dashboard reporting across all initiatives and enhancements
Building Relationships
  • Influence, coach, and communicate effectively in and across teams, to build consensus for recommendations and drive ownership
  • Continuously build relationships with internal and external partners to build a network of resources, including senior leaders
  • Engage with, seek support from, and identify needs to collaborate with senior leaders across the Village as it relates to the change initiative
  • Coach project owners on how to put our standard of deployment into practice
  • Maintain a high degree of emotional intelligence to manage relationships
Analytics
  • Translate analysis into prioritized recommendations, utilizing a range of analytical tools to drive insights across the portfolio
  • Develop dashboard reporting across all initiatives and enhancements that provide real-time insight of impacts at enterprise, Palmer, role, and initiative levels
  • Use analytics to defend business cases and key decisions
Team

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Relevant experience in healthcare is preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated competence in structural business process/workflow design analysis, project management, change management, and performance improvement experience
  • 10+ years of total work experience in progressive roles
  • Project Management Certification preferred
  • PROSCI training preferred
  • Six Sigma or lean training preferred
  • Travel 15-20%
