Full Job Description
Reality Labs (RL) is driving the industry forward through virtual and augmented reality products. The Director of the XR TPM team will lead the TPM organization driving CV/ML/AI development for next-generation AR/VR devices, as well as the software platform that powers them. These are critical building blocks for our next-generation compute platform, spanning core algorithms and platform development across AR and VR. The XR TPM team is looking for an effective communicator and collaborator who can drive awareness and cross-functional buy-in across RL. The ideal candidate brings a proven program management background, with experience leading large-scale programs across multiple software teams with cross-functional dependencies to hardware, as well as experience building and growing a TPM organization. You have a well-rounded technical background, including consumer software development and/or scalable ML workflows. You navigate ambiguity by creating structure, prioritizing competing demands by impact, and driving clarity for teams - balancing high-level strategy and team leadership with hands-on execution to get the job done.

• Articulate the technology, requirements, goals, and milestones of your team
• Work with engineering and product management leadership to define and revise the long-term strategy for the organization
• Work with the team to develop end-to-end program plans, influence teams to deliver against them, and keep the organization and leadership informed on progress. Perform risk management and change management on the programs
• Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions
• Work with teams to set milestones, communicate program statuses, and identify/address potential setbacks
• Work with engineering to ensure that what we build has the right balance of cost vs. benefit, and focuses on addressing the highest priority partner team and customer needs

• Experience in growing organizations and developing team practices and processes
• Knowledge of software development processes and best practices for both traditional and machine-learned systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in scaling platforms and people for large-scale growth
• Experience in shipping AOSP and/or development of a custom operating system
• Experience shipping consumer software and/or developer APIs
