Director, Tech Recruiting
As a Talent Acquisition Director, you’ll lead the strategy to attract, engage, and hire high-impact technical leaders who are building the future of financial technology.
We’re looking for a strategic, forward-thinking Talent Acquisition Director to accelerate Capital One’s market position as an employer of choice in Software Engineering, AI Engineering, Data Science, Applied Research, and Machine Learning. In this role, you’ll partner closely with executive leadership to influence strategy, modernize recruiting operations, and empower high-performing recruiting teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Partner with senior executives to deliver transformative talent acquisition strategies
- Lead and inspire talent teams to source, attract, and hire world-class AI and technical talent
- Leverage data-driven insights to optimize pipeline performance and solve complex hiring challenges
- Drive cross-functional initiatives that elevate the candidate experience and recruiting enablement
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all talent channels and hiring practices
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
- At least 7 years of experience in Human Resources, corporate recruiting, agency recruiting, or a combination
- At least 7 years of experience in a consultative role
- At least 7 years of people leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
- Master’s Degree or MBA
- Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification
- Proven track record sourcing and hiring top-tier AI, ML, Data Science, and technical talent
- 10+ years of experience in HR strategy or Talent Acquisition leadership
- 8+ years of experience in People Management and leadership development
- 8+ years of strategic consulting or client management experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $206,000 - $235,100 for Director, Recruiting
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
