  • Build and maintain relationships with tax equity investors, lenders, advisors, and internal leadership.
  • Monitor tax regulations and renewable energy incentives affecting transaction structures.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for seamless post-transaction integration and reporting.
  • Track tax equity market trends and renewable energy financing to identify opportunities and optimize deals.

Job Summary:

The Director of Tax Equity Finance will lead strategic tax planning, compliance and structured financing to support the company's renewable energy growth strategy. This high-impact role will report to the Vice President of Finance, serving as the company's subject matter expert on tax-driven financing. From optimizing tax incentives in project deals to helping ensure ongoing compliance, this role will drive the structuring and execution of tax equity transactions, leveraging their expertise to provide innovative financing solutions.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement tax-efficient structures for renewable energy projects, with a focus on maximizing available tax incentives (ITC/PTC).
  • Manage end-to-end deal processes, including sourcing, valuation, due diligence, and closing for tax equity transactions.
  • Develop, maintain and review complex financial models to evaluate returns, cash flows, and partnership allocations.

Required Education/Skills/Knowledge:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA, JD, or advanced degree preferred.
  • 6+ years' experience leading tax equity financing, or structured finance within renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven ability to align tax equity strategies with broader corporate objectives.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines; exceling in sometimes ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to sit/stand at a desk, using a computer workstation.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, walk; lift push or pull objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to handle long periods of screen time and typing.
  • Must be able to have effective time management skills, with the ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
