We are seeking an experienced
Director, Tax to join our team. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and accounting within the organization. They play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with tax laws and regulations, and implementing strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maximizing financial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Lead complex tax engagements, including planning, compliance, review, research, and strategic advisory services.
- Review complex Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate tax returns and provide technical guidance on complex tax matters.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary relationship leader for key clients, identifying tax strategies, risks, and planning opportunities.
- Stay current on tax laws and regulatory developments and translate changes into actionable recommendations for clients.
- Lead engagement planning, staffing, workflow, and quality while keeping Partners informed of significant client and technical matters.
- Mentor and develop Managers, Seniors, and staff while fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships, introduce additional firm services, and support practice growth.
- Collaborate with Partners and firm leadership on client initiatives, operational improvements, and strategic priorities.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and active CPA license required.
- 7+ years of public accounting experience within a CPA firm, including progressive leadership responsibility.
- Strong technical expertise across Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate taxation.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex tax engagements, managing client relationships, and developing accounting professionals.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards for quality and client service.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience serving real estate clients.
- Proficiency with Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and Intuit products.
