The Director of Talent Acquisition is responsible for leading PremiStar's enterprise-wide talent acquisition strategy and execution across a multi-business unit, national footprint. This role serves as a player-coach in a high growth environment, balancing direct ownership of critical recruiting initiatives with leadership and development of the talent acquisition team.
This leader partners with executive and business unit leadership to design and execute a scalable, data-driven talent acquisition strategy that enables PremiStar's growth, particularly addressing the company's most critical constraint: skilled technician talent. The Director owns both strategy and outcomes, ensuring alignment between workforce planning, recruiting execution, and business performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Enterprise TA Strategy & Execution- Develop and lead PremiStar's scalable talent acquisition strategy in alignment with aggressive growth objectives and workforce needs across multiple business units and geographies.
- Maintain direct accountability for recruiting performance, ensuring execution delivers against hiring targets, quality of hire, and time-to-fill expectations.
- Operate as a player-coach, personally leading select leadership, critical, and hard-to-fill roles while coaching the team on full-cycle recruiting excellence.
- Drive urgency and accountability across recruiting activity, ensuring hiring momentum is maintained in a high-demand environment.
- Continuously assess market conditions, labor trends, and competitive talent intelligence to inform recruiting strategy.
- Partner directly with leaders in a highly inquisitive, fast-changing business environment where priorities may evolve quickly.
Technician Workforce Strategy- Own the enterprise strategy for technician pipeline development, including sourcing, partnerships, and workforce solutions to meet current and future demand.
- Expand and optimize relationships with trade schools, technical programs, industry associations, and alternative talent pipelines to strengthen technician supply.
- Develop innovative, scalable programs (apprenticeships, early career pipelines, referral strategies) to improve technician attraction, conversion, and retention.
Multi-BU Leadership & Stakeholder Partnership- Partner with executive leadership, business unit leaders, and hiring managers to align talent acquisition priorities with business growth strategy and operational needs.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to leaders, elevating hiring practices, assessment rigor, and workforce planning capabilities.
- Ensure consistent, scalable recruiting processes across regions while allowing flexibility to meet local market demands.
Team Leadership & Development- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing talent acquisition team, including managers and senior recruiters.
- Establish clear performance expectations, accountability, and development plans to elevate team capability and results.
- Manage agency relationships and external recruiting investments with disciplined ROI focus.
- Foster a culture of ownership, urgency, and continuous improvement within the TA function.
Advanced Analytics & Workforce Planning- Further develop talent acquisition metrics, dashboards, and reporting, providing insights into recruiting performance, pipeline health, and hiring capacity.
- Partner with HR and business leaders on workforce planning and capacity modeling, translating growth plans into actionable hiring strategies.
- Leverage data and KPI's to continuously optimize sourcing strategies, improve candidate flow, and drive efficiency and effectiveness across recruiting.
Employer Brand & Candidate Experience- Partner with marketing and HR leadership to strengthen PremiStar's employment brand and value proposition across targeted talent segments.
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality candidate experience that reflects PremiStar's culture and values.
Systems & Process Optimization- Lead the ongoing optimization and utilization of the applicant tracking system (ATS) and recruitment technologies to enhance recruiter productivity and candidate experience.
- Standardize and continuously improve recruiting processes to ensure scalability and efficiency across a growing organization
MINIMUM AND/OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION:- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
EXPERIENCE:- 10+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience, including leadership of TA teams across multiple locations/business units.
- Experience in high-volume or skilled trades recruiting (e.g., HVAC, mechanical services, industrial sectors) strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success building and scaling talent acquisition functions in high growth-oriented environment.

- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Strong capability in leveraging recruitment technology, talent acquisition analytics and KPI's, and capacity modeling. Strong sourcing, assessment, and talent marketing capabilities.
- Skilled Trades Expertise: Demonstrated success building technician or skilled labor pipelines.
- Relationship Building and Influence: Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders. Excellent executive presence, communication skills, and business acumen.

This position is a sedentary office role; however, some sitting, standing, and moving throughout office environment is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary. Additionally, this role will occasionally involve travel via car and plane.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in both an office and a field environment. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
