Job Summary:

Responsible for leading the creation and execution of short-and long-term strategy within Supply Chain under Center of Excellence business function emphasizing product availability, inventory productivity, and cost productivity. Assess industry benchmarking and competitive landscape to connect the broader retail strategy to division-wide initiatives, to contribute to our Supply Chain strategy/portfolio. Initiates cross-functional engagement to drive incremental in-year initiatives resulting in revenue generation and cost savings for the broader P&L. Provides leadership and management to one or more major departments or business units.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides oversight and drives Supply Chain's execution and continuous improvement for Walgreens distribution network (omnichannel, reverse logistics, retail products, etc.) balancing customer experience, team member experience, top line revenue growth, and profitability.
  • Accountable for the creation and execution of the Supply Chain strategy (ESG/Omnichannel, etc.) to bring Walgreens to the forefront of the competitive landscape, regarding logistics and inventory.
  • Communicates regularly with senior management and executive levels on strategic insights and initiative prioritization.
  • Creates and fosters high performance culture, focused on engagement, accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Owns and manages relationships with third party service providers, including partner selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.
  • Partners with key business stakeholders to create investment requests, advocates for capital and operational funds, pivots throughout fiscal year to find savings and overdeliver on ROI.
  • Champions company initiatives, connecting efforts to company vision and purpose and driving increased engagement.
  • Monitors industry trends, best practices, and regulatory issues as they relate to specific area(s) of responsibility and shares learnings, as appropriate, with direct reports and peers.
  • Leads financial governance process (from investment request to budget creation and adherence) for all initiatives within their division, accountable for delivery of initiatives, on time and on budget.
  • Develops and mentors' staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace.


External Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years' experience in Supply chain or business role OR High School/GED and at least 9 years of experience in Supply chain or business role.
  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
  • At least 3 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).


Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA/Master's Degree
  • APICS CSCP Certification.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing 3rd party relationships.
