Full Job Description
Job Area:
Operations Group, Operations Group > Supply Chain Management

General Summary:

The Director, Supply Chain Systems and AI Enablement leads the strategy, governance, adoption, and execution of digital capabilities that improve global supply chain effectiveness, resilience, and efficiency. The role combines supply chain expertise with technical leadership across advanced planning systems, decision-support tools, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities. The Director translates business needs into scalable systems roadmaps, improves planning processes and data usability, drives adoption of AI and automation across the organization, and builds the team capabilities needed to scale modern supply chain solutions. Working across supply chain, IT, data, engineering, finance, product, security, enterprise architecture, and master data teams, the Director ensures digital capabilities align with enterprise technology direction and Qualcomm's business strategy.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Define and lead the multi-year vision, roadmap, and governance model for supply chain systems, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled decision support; translate complex operational requirements into scalable solutions that improve planning accuracy, execution speed, productivity, and enterprise alignment.
  • Lead the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of decision-support capabilities, including planning models, scenario simulations, dashboards, metrics, reports, data auditing tools, and workflow automation that help manage trade-offs across customer delivery, inventory investment, supply availability, productivity, and cost.
  • Identify, prioritize, and sponsor practical AI, agentic orchestration, and automation use cases across supply chain operations, including demand and supply planning, exception management, scenario analysis, reporting, knowledge retrieval, and process simplification; drive adoption through workflow integration, change management, and internal training initiatives within supply chain.
  • Partner cross-functionally with IT, data, engineering, finance, operations, product, security, enterprise architecture, and business unit stakeholders to ensure supply chain systems, AI, and automation capabilities integrate with upstream and downstream platforms and align with related Qualcomm technology initiatives.
  • Own planning-system data and model integrity through standards and controls for APS data model setup, network validation, planning parameters, data auditing, and planning data stewardship; partner with the master data team on related changes and design decisions without owning enterprise master data management or overall data quality.
  • Build, mentor, and grow high-performing teams of analytics, automation, data science, and AI professionals; develop capabilities in supply chain domain knowledge, modeling, systems thinking, workflow design, stakeholder influence, and practical AI adoption.
  • Establish change management, testing, release readiness, controls, and business continuity practices for supply chain systems and automation deployments, ensuring solutions are secure, reliable, scalable, and compliant.
  • Provide executive-level communication on strategy, roadmap progress, risks, benefits, investment needs, and enterprise alignment; influence senior stakeholders around priorities, trade-offs, transformation outcomes, and resolution of complex supply chain systems, data, and process issues.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Operations, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 9+ years of Supply Chain, Product Planning, or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Operations, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
4+ years of experience working in production and materials management in semiconductor industry.
  • 5+ years of people leadership, program leadership, or cross-functional transformation leadership experience, including experience mentoring, developing, and scaling teams of analytics, data, automation, systems, or AI professionals.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supply chain planning processes, including demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, capacity planning, S&OP, production planning, materials management, or supplier coordination.
  • Significant experience defining, deploying, configuring, or improving supply chain systems, especially advanced planning systems such as Kinaxis Maestro, including data model setup, network configuration, planning-parameter design, scenario modeling, reporting, integration with ERP or other enterprise platforms, and related business controls.
  • Strong understanding of how planning data structures, master data, constraints, sourcing relationships, bills of material, lead times, capacity assumptions, inventory policies, metrics, and planning rules are represented within APS platforms.
  • Experience identifying and implementing automation, advanced analytics, or AI-enabled capabilities that improve business processes, decision quality, productivity, or operational efficiency.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders, coordinate across functions outside supply chain, translate business strategy into executable systems and process roadmaps, communicate complex topics clearly, and lead ambiguous enterprise-level problems through structured analysis and disciplined execution.
  • Preferred: Master's degree or MBA in Supply Chain, Business Operations, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Experience in the semiconductor, high-technology, advanced manufacturing, or similarly complex global supply chain environment.
