Position Summary:

The Director of Supply Chain Planning for Associated Materials Innovations is responsible for leading and optimizing the company's end-to-end supply chain planning processes to ensure the right products, materials, and resources are available at the right time and at the right cost enabling the fulfillment of the end-customer needs in a timely & high-quality manner. This position provides strategic leadership for demand planning, supply planning, production planning, inventory management, and supply chain analytics.

The Director partners closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales, Finance, and Customer Service to align business objectives with supply chain capabilities. The role is responsible for developing and executing planning strategies that improve customer service, reduce LT, optimize inventory, increase manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, and support sustainable business growth.

The successful candidate will be a strategic and analytical leader who can translate business requirements into effective supply chain plans while driving accountability, process discipline, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an integrated supply chain planning strategy aligned with overall business and operational objectives.
  • Establish planning policies, procedures, performance standards, and best practices across the organization.
  • Oversee raw material planning to ensure material availability to meet customer needs and business objectives
  • Lead supplier escalations when performance requirements are not met (on time delivery, quality and communication)
  • Oversee production planning and scheduling to ensure manufacturing capacity is effectively utilized, and customer requirements are met.
  • Develop short-, medium-, and long-term supply plans based on demand forecasts, inventory targets, capacity constraints, and material availability.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Operations leadership to optimize production schedules, improve throughput, and minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate inventory strategies and target levels for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
  • Develop programs to reduce excess and obsolete inventory while maintaining required customer service levels.
  • Monitor inventory performance and identify opportunities to improve inventory turns, working capital, and service levels.
  • Serve as a key supply chain partner to Operations, Procurement, Sales, Finance, Customer Service, and executive leadership.
  • Develop dashboards and key performance indicators to measure planning effectiveness and supply chain performance.
  • Use data analytics to identify trends, risks, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify and implement improvements to planning processes, systems, organizational structure, and operating practices.
  • Lead initiatives that improve supply chain responsiveness, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Build organizational capability in demand planning, production planning, inventory management, and supply chain analytics.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, business, engineering, or related field. Master's a plus.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, production planning, inventory management, or related areas (preferably demonstrated within Building Products/Windows Mfg. Segment).
  • 3+ years of experience leading and developing supply chain or planning teams.
  • Strong experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with S&OP/IBP, demand planning, supply planning, production scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and supply chain planning processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into business decisions.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multiple functions and levels of an organization.
