Day Shift

Summary:

The Director of Subspecialty Practices assumes responsibility for administration of assigned Medical and Surgical Sub-Specialty service lines and provider practices.

Responsibilities:

  1. Adds value as a key member of the ambulatory management team; understands the customers, business and financials elements of running physician practices.
  2. Supervises employees, provides direction, coaches, trains and develops, and manages performance to company goals and expectations.
  3. Promotes family centered care and employee engagement.
  4. Mentors, directs, guides and assists work of operations and clinic managers/supervisors and staff within area of responsibility to meet department goals.
  5. Develops, participates and monitors systems, procedures, process improvement initiatives, and workflows to facilitate growth and efficient operations.
  6. Partners with their respective physician leader in the development and execution of strategic initiatives and goals, including planning for new / expanded services.
  7. Responsible for management of fiscal resources, operational policies and standards of performance for areas of responsibility.
  8. Prepares, manages, and adheres to department budget to maintain expenditure controls.
  9. Provides administrative oversight for ambulatory practices and physical plant.
  10. Strives to meet goals through department and intra department collaboration and active participation on appropriate committees. At the direction of the Vice President, leads and/or participates in projects that cross the entire ambulatory and physician practice enterprise.
  11. Assumes 24/7 administrative oversight for staff who work on inpatient units.
  12. Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

  1. Experience in progressive health care leadership is required.
  2. Experience partnering with physicians and clinical leaders in a collaborative environment is required.
  3. Experience with revenue cycle functions, financial management, and patient care operations is required.
  4. Experience with performance improvement and quality strategies especially. Lean Six Sigma, is preferred.
  5. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
  6. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. EPIC Systems software is preferred.


Education and Experience

1. Education: Bachelor's degree required, must be enrolled in a Master's degree program and be completed within 2 years from start date.
2. Years of relevant experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant practice management and/or ambulatory health care experience is required; 7 or more years is preferred.
3. Years of supervisory experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience supervising/managing employees and/or teams is required; 7 years is preferred.
