Summary

Bell AI Fabric is building Canada's largest sovereign AI infrastructure platform. As Director, Strategic Finance & Corporate Development, you will work at the centre of Bell AI Fabric's most important investment, capital allocation, commercial, and growth decisions, providing the financial insight and execution discipline required to scale the business.

This is a highly visible, hands-on finance role with unusual breadth and access. Working directly with senior executives, the Bell AI Fabric Board, Bell Finance leadership, and business teams, you will lead business cases, financial modelling, capital planning, performance analysis, and finance support for major customer, partnership, and infrastructure opportunities.

You will turn complex operational, commercial, tax, and accounting inputs into clear financial conclusions and decision-ready materials. You will also manage and develop team members, set priorities, review work closely, and raise the quality, precision, and pace of the team's output.

This is a unique opportunity for a finance, consulting, investment banking, or corporate development professional who wants to help build something consequential and expand their responsibilities quickly. You do not need to arrive knowing every aspect of the business. Success will come from curiosity, sound judgment, humility, exceptional care in the work, and a willingness to invest the effort required to learn and figure things out.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted strategic finance partner to the executive team, leading the financial analysis behind Bell AI Fabric's highest-priority investments, commercial opportunities, and growth initiatives.
  • Build, maintain, and drive integrated financial models, business cases, forecasts, sensitivities, and decision tools that connect customer demand, pricing, capacity, capital requirements, operating costs, tax, accounting, and expected returns.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly capital allocation processes, assess competing requirements, challenge assumptions, and recommend how capital should be prioritized across projects and opportunities.
  • Question business stakeholders constructively and use judgment to reconcile commercial ambition, financial discipline, operational realities, risk, and timing into the best overall financial decision.
  • Support major customer opportunities, partnerships, financing initiatives, and transactions through rigorous economics, scenario analysis, financial diligence, and executive recommendations, while partnering with the deal lead on negotiations and structuring.
  • Work closely with Tax, Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, Corporate Development, and project teams to ensure financial conclusions reflect the appropriate treatment, assumptions, controls, and enterprise requirements.
  • Translate financial priorities into executable workplans with clear outputs, owners, milestones, dependencies, review points, and escalation paths; drive workstreams through completion.
  • Identify and improve financial processes, governance, model controls, reporting, and decision-support capabilities as Bell AI Fabric scales.

Critical Qualifications

  • Typically 6-10 years of experience in strategic finance, corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, FP&A, project finance, accounting, or another environment that develops comparable financial and execution capabilities.
  • Strong financial modelling capability, including experience building integrated models, business cases, forecasts, sensitivities, and scenario analyses that support significant decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to review complex models and analyses with precision, identify errors or unsupported assumptions, and improve the quality and clarity of the underlying work.
  • Strong PowerPoint, executive communication, and financial storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clean, decision-oriented materials for senior executives and the Bell AI Fabric Board.
  • Sound financial and commercial judgment, with the confidence to question stakeholders, pressure-test assumptions, and recommend a practical path forward.
  • Working knowledge of tax, accounting, and financial reporting considerations, and the ability to partner effectively with subject-matter experts.
  • Experience managing or developing others, setting clear expectations, reviewing work closely, and maintaining accountability without creating unnecessary hierarchy.
  • High capacity and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to work quickly across multiple urgent priorities without compromising accuracy or quality.
  • Ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, learn unfamiliar topics quickly, and invest additional effort during critical periods to reach a well-supported answer.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent financial designations or advanced finance training; candidates with strong equivalent experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, investments, partnerships, due diligence, valuation, integration planning, or other transaction-related work.
  • Experience in infrastructure, technology, telecommunications, energy, data centres, project finance, or another capital-intensive industry.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with disciplined model structure, documentation, version control, and quality assurance.
  • Strong curiosity and a demonstrated ability to become credible quickly on unfamiliar commercial, technical, tax, and accounting topics.
  • A practical, collaborative, and low-ego working style, including comfort receiving challenge, changing course when the facts require it, and sharing credit with the team.
  • High standards for pace, precision, ownership, accountability, and follow-through, combined with a genuine interest in difficult problems and continuous learning.
