ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Information Technology Director to lead our State & Local Government West Coast business.
This role is responsible for overseeing multiple customer accounts, ensuring the successful delivery of complex IT programs, driving growth (account based and new business), maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, and managing financial performance across the business.
This role will also be responsible for leading other strategic operational and growth initiatives across the entire state and local business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, delivery, and performance of multiple State & Local Government technology accounts.
- Drive account growth through expansion of existing programs, identification of new opportunities, and partnership with business development teams.
- Oversee end0to0end service delivery, ensuring high0quality execution across software development, cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, and emerging technologies.
- Maintain strong and trusted customer relationships to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and long-term retention.
- Provide executive oversight of program performance, risk management, staffing, and operational excellence.
- Manage business-level financials, including forecasting, budgeting, margin performance, and contract compliance.
- Collaborate with internal functional teams (HR, Finance, Contracts, Talent Acquisition, Capture, Solution Architecture) to support organizational objectives.
- Ensure programs adhere to corporate governance, quality standards, and regulatory/compliance frameworks.
- Mentor and lead program managers and technical leads to build a high-performing team culture.
- Represent the organization as the primary executive interface for state and local customers.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 16+ years of State and Local experience in IT program management or technology leadership supporting government customers.
- Demonstrated success managing and growing multiple concurrent accounts or programs in a systems integrator environment.
- Strong financial acumen with proven experience managing P&L, budgets, and contract performance.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and executive0level presentation skills.
- Experience driving growth through account strategy, customer engagement, and successful delivery.
- Experience leading new business opportunities through capture, proposal, negotiations, close / win, and delivery.
- Deep understanding of state and local government missions, procurement processes, and IT modernization priorities.
- Located in the Western United States with the ability to travel up to 50% of the time as needed. (Strong Preference: Located in CA)

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor0s degree in technology, business, or related field.
- Experience leading application modernization, maintenance, and operations accounts
- Experience in cloud modernization, cybersecurity, digital services, or data analytics programs.
- Experience in public safety or first responder solutions.
Target Salary Range$229,000 - $366,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual0s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
