This role is based at our corporate office in Dallas, TX

This is your chance to be a part of an in-house Technology team that's creating consumer-facing, cutting-edge technologies revolutionizing the hospitality industry around the world! As a Director Software Engineering for the PEP product (Property Engagement Platform), you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Software Engineering team reporting to Senior Director Software Engineering PEP, you will support projects including developing and deploying the property management software across various Hilton properties across the globe.

What you'll do during a typical day:
  • Own and champion Software Engineering standards, development best practices, engineering efficiency, and software quality across the PEP platform.
  • Build and drive adoption of modern software engineering principles, cloud-native architecture, distributed systems design, and scalable application development.
  • Promote secure software development practices by incorporating security, identity, authentication, and authorization frameworks into the engineering lifecycle.
  • Partner closely with Product, Architecture, Quality Engineering, and external software vendors to ensure successful technical delivery and alignment with Hilton technology strategy.
  • Enhance onboarding and ongoing training to create a team of committed software engineers and technical analysts.
  • Define and implement engineering metrics, code review standards, and operational KPIs that improve development efficiency, quality, and production stability.
  • Leverage Hilton team to provide technical oversight and architectural governance for vendor-delivered solutions, ensuring secure, scalable, maintainable, and high-quality implementations.
  • Drive observability, resiliency, and operational excellence through monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response, and production support best practices.
  • Keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software development and identify opportunities to incorporate new tools and techniques into our development process.

How you'll collaborate with others:
  • You will collaborate with multiple teams including Product, Design, and Architecture to drive efficiency, standards, and maintain the technical integrity of property management technology.
  • Be an engaged member of a software engineering team working with business team members daily, identifying and documenting their needs.
  • Work with external vendor to deliver enhancements/fixes on PMS system.
  • Use a customer-centric approach to create and manage business and technology processes.

Projectsyou'll take ownership of:
  • Overall technical implementation for our next generation, cloud-based property management system known as PEP (Property Engagement Platform).
What It Takes to Make the Stay

You have these minimum qualifications:
  • Ten (10) Years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
  • Six (6) Years of management or supervisory experience
  • Strong leadership experience over teams responsible for business-critical software platforms in a global, 24x7 operational environment
  • Experience leading software delivery practices, including DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, production operations, and incident management
  • Experience building and operating cloud-native, distributed applications on AWS using modern architecture, integration, and API design principles
  • Experience driving application performance, scalability, reliability, and security across enterprise platforms and data environments
  • This is a hybrid role, onsite at least 3 days a week and is required to be near our Dallas office location
  • Travel up to 25%

It would be useful if you have:
  • Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience
  • Twelve (12) + years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
  • Eight (8) + years of Management/Supervisory experience
  • Experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and highly available enterprise platforms.
  • Experience with performance engineering, load testing, and capacity planning for large-scale applications.
  • Experience with observability platforms, monitoring, logging, and production support tooling.
  • Expanded database optimization language beyond basic SQL/NoSQL knowledge.

Hilton offers its eligible team members a comprehensive benefits package to support their mental and physical well-being, so they can Thrive personally and professionally. The pay range for this role is $145,000 - $210,000 and is determined based on applicable and specialized experience and location. Subject to plan terms and conditions, you will be eligible to participate in the Hilton Annual Incentive (Bonus) Plan, consistent with other team members at the same level and/or position within the Company.
