Role Summary:

The SimCorp Technology team is responsible for the Accounting Book of Record (ABOR) platform that enables CPP Investments' Investment Accounting and Performance capabilities. The team owns the SimCorp platform and its associated technology ecosystem, including critical integrations supporting Finance, Investment Operations, and the broader Fund.
As the organization continues to grow in scale and complexity, the SimCorp Technology team plays a key role in ensuring the integrity, reliability, and modernization of the technology platforms that enable core investment accounting and performance capabilities.
As Director, SimCorp, you will shape and lead the strategic direction, architecture, and execution of the SimCorp platform and its supporting technology ecosystem. In close partnership with your business-aligned Product Owner, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and analysts with accountability for platform health, modernization, operational excellence, technology strategy, and business outcomes.

  • Partner closely with Finance and Investment Operations Product Owners to define and evolve the strategic roadmap for the SimCorp platform and supporting technology ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business priorities, enterprise architecture, and technology strategy.
  • Lead the evolution and operational stewardship of the SimCorp platform, balancing platform stability, modernization, risk management, and long-term sustainability.
  • Drive agile delivery across the platform portfolio, with accountability for solution quality, resiliency, operational readiness, and technology lifecycle management.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with SimCorp and other technology partners to drive accountability, value realization, and alignment with CPP Investments' evolving needs.
  • Engage senior business and technology stakeholders to communicate priorities, risks, trade-offs, and outcomes.
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance, ensuring technology decisions are informed by sound engineering judgement, thoughtful trade-off analysis, and systems thinking.
  • Drive interoperability through alignment with enterprise architecture, enterprise data products, and modern integration patterns.
  • Champion engineering excellence and continuous improvement across Product Craftsmanship, Product Reliability, Product Experience, Team Experience, and platform operations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and ownership.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop top technology talent while creating an environment where team members are empowered to challenge assumptions, contribute ideas, and solve complex problems.

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant technology experience, including progressive leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire diverse, high-performing teams.
  • Experience supporting complex enterprise platforms within financial services, asset management, pension, capital markets, or related industries.
  • Strong technology leadership, systems thinking, and problem-solving capabilities, with experience making architectural and platform strategy decisions in complex environments.
  • Experience managing strategic vendor relationships and influencing technology roadmaps.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and business audiences.
  • Experience with SimCorp Dimension, Investment Accounting, Fund Accounting, Portfolio Accounting, Performance Measurement, or related investment servicing capabilities is considered an asset.
  • CFA, CAIA, or equivalent investment domain knowledge is considered an asset.
