The Director, Sales Programs and Specialty Pricing leads the team responsible for developing American's strategies to profitably grow revenue from business and specialty leisure customer segments in partnership with the Sales, Pricing, and Finance teams, as well as our Joint Business carriers. This role requires the ability to innovate and implement pricing strategies, optimize revenue in key customer segments, and foster strong cross-functional collaboration both internally and externally with customers in these segments. The Director will drive key initiatives, enhance market competitiveness, and ensure alignment with corporate goals, contributing to American's overall revenue growth and market leadership.

What you'll do

  • Ensures efficient revenue performance by designing, developing and delivering corporate discount programs, agency incentive programs, specialty products and pricing including custom fare programs for agencies, corporate travel and group travel, waivers and favors
  • Strategically manages the incentive budget through effective partnerships with Finance and Sales teams, ensuring optimal resource allocation and alignment with corporate objectives
  • Partners with Joint Business carriers through effective planning, collaboration and data-driven analysis to drive alignment and success for both American and Joint Business carriers
  • Accountable for the implementation of programs with a relentless focus on process improvements, leveraging effective partnerships with Sales and Revenue Engineering teams to enhance operational efficiency and achieve strategic goals
  • Analyzes and reports on monthly/quarterly performance, including its progress toward long-term revenue generation goals by partnering with Revenue Analysis, Sales and Revenue Management teams
  • Ensures leaders and their teams within each subject matter area are fully equipped with the tools and support necessary for success
  • Represents the Company in front of large, critical customer accounts to understand and address their needs, concerns, and requests, while driving strategic processes and procedures to effectively respond to those customer needs Revenue Management as needed with large accounts managed by the Sales team - e.g., the major travel management agencies like Amex GBT, leisure agencies like Apple Leisure Group

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or other related field
  • At least 5 years of sales program and/or pricing experience
  • 7 years of people leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Prior experience with Joint Business carriers preferred
  • Advanced degree or equivalent work experience preferred
