Job Overview

The Director, Sales Development (Solar & Emerging Regions) leads TE's solar organization, driving order growth, sales performance, profitability, and customer experience across critical verticals including Solar, BESS and OEM. You will have the opportunity to set the strategic direction for national account engagement, develop and execute annual business plans, and cultivate collaboration across TE's broader sales and services ecosystem.

As a senior leader, you will own and nurture key corporate-level customer relationships-leveraging these partnerships to influence national programs, strengthen value propositions, and guide enterprise-level decision-making. Working closely with vertical leaders and managers, the Director ensures best-in-class customer support, alignment of sales strategy with engineering services, and delivery of high-quality operational execution.

Job Requirements

  • Lead the Solar Team, driving orders, sales, profit, and year-over-year growth.
  • Develop and execute the annual strategic plan and budget for key customer partnerships
  • Establish and maintain high-level customer relationships to support strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate deeply across TE's sales verticals to align customer strategy and ensure seamless support across teams.
  • Partner with Engineering Services to ensure consistency, alignment, and execution of customer requirements.
  • Provide leadership to capture customer needs and translate them into compelling value propositions.
  • Oversee program-level quotation responses and drive closure of service agreements and commercial terms.
  • Coordinate operational execution to ensure high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage performance, talent development, and conflict resolution within the National Accounts Services team.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, customer-first thinking, and continuous improvement.


What your background should look like

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in sales, marketing, and operations with 3+ years of in direct sales leadership in a comparable size/scope role.
  • 2+ years of experience in solar design, estimating, takeoffs, analyzing layout drawings, single-line diagrams, electrical plans, and datasheets to calculate quantities and lengths for string conductors, harnesses, IPCs, trunk bus systems, combiner boxes, disconnects, and related components.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plan sets, electrical diagrams, and site layouts.
  • Experience assessing, selecting, developing, motivating, and energizing a diverse team in sales planning, negotiation, and customer pursuit.
  • Demonstrated success selling to developers, owner-operators, IPPs, utilities, and OEMs.
  • Strong negotiation, strategic planning, and relationship management skills.
  • Experience managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects with long sales cycles.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to foresee market trends and customer needs translating them into actionable strategies that drive growth and innovation.
  • Skilled in navigating and leading through change, in response to evolving market conditions and customer demands.
  • Proficient in leveraging digital tools and technologies
  • Ability to travel 50%
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $215,000- 240,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
