The primary responsibility of the Director Routing & Logistics (DRL) is to increase the profitability of the
Services & Solutions organization. The DRL is to lead the Routing & Logistics team in providing the most efficient
and effective logistics routing in order to drive on-time service for our customers in the most cost-effective manner.
In order to accomplish this objective, the Director Routing & Logistics will continually analyze the dynamic data and will assess system adjustments/improvements to drive program efficiency. The leader will also be responsible for measuring the performance of the team and driving continuous improvement.

Essential Functions
• Oversees all aspect of service routing using the Omnitracs routing technology for ~400 routes, providing ~1700 services per day (8500 per week)
• Lead and develop the team of logistics professionals in the Routing & Logistics Department, adhering to the core values: Customer Service, Safety & Compliance, Commitment to the Environment and Continuous Improvement.
• Measure daily performance against key performance indicators and drive improvement - key focus area is to improve order density and improve our miles per stop performance
• Strive to maximize on-time performance while minimizing missed services through creative routing and management of resources.
• Partner with IT and Operations to implement/exploit routing technology and ERP Systems
• Develop metrics to measure productivity, service, and service expense, that effectively identify/communicate distribution performance; accountable for the continuous improvement of those metrics.
• Partner with key Field Operations leadership to identify opportunities, recommend distribution best practices, and implement plans to improve operations and region performance.
• Perform analysis to identify areas for improvement in routing including customer service windows, resource needs, route efficiency, fill rates, overtime reduction. Work with the senior team to remove any and all obstacles that deteriorate routing efficiencies.
• Improve key department initiatives through process simplification and effective communication across key functional departments.
• This role will proactively lead the company's continuous improvement efforts to drive operational efficiency and customer responsiveness through routing optimization, leveraging future servicemanagement technology, processes, and best practices to standardize the team's approach to automated route planning/execution.
Knowledge and Skills
• Expert in information data gathering, manipulating & interpreting to communicate answers researched for leadership team in business planning and strategy.
• Expert knowledge of routing practices and software.
• Advanced skill level with Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and data mining skills
• Demonstrated business/financial acumen
• Strong communication skills (both written & verbal)
• Strong bias for action/Self Motivated
• Ability to lean and motivate a team to a level of high performance
Education and Experience
• Leadership experience in routing & logistics with knowledge of transportation routing systems ideally Omnitracs
• College Graduate BS in business, supply chain, or operations management related major
• Advanced degree a plus
• Experience with data mining is a plus
