About the RoleThe Revenue Cycle Director manages the Patient Accounts Department and works with colleagues across the revenue cycle to maximize cash flow, optimize billing, follow-up and collections, and minimize denials. The role covers a medical group, an ambulatory surgery center, and a hemophilia treatment center, including billing of blood factors under the 340B program. As an affiliate of UCLA, we use Epic (CareConnect) for our EMR and Athena for billing.
What You'll Do- Run day-to-day Patient Accounts operations and serve as the authorized contact with our billing software vendor
- Audit ASC and Factor charges, manage CareConnect work queues, and support clean claims
- Maintain charge masters and lead remittance review, denials, and appeals
- Approve large-dollar write-offs and bad debt after appropriate follow-up
- Manage A/R, departmental budget, and reporting for providers and leadership
- Oversee Factor billing and medical coding and compliance for surgical procedures
- Develop department policies, recruit and supervise staff, and ensure regulatory compliance
What You'll Bring- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field (Master's preferred)
- 5 years of progressive healthcare billing experience, including management and supervisory experience
- Knowledge of healthcare billing operations, Medi-Cal, and other government programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong communication and managerial skills, and attention to detail
- Epic and/or Athena experience strongly preferred
