Here's a summary of responsibilities:

The Director, Restricted Giving Program serves as the enterprise lead for restricted giving strategy and execution, driving the integration of philanthropic investments across the organization's campaign priorities. This role directs the design, structuring, and scaling of restricted funding vehicles and targeted initiatives, ensuring gifts are aligned with donor intent, organizational priorities, and measurable outcomes.

The Director establishes and governs the frameworks, processes, and partnerships required to deliver a disciplined, high-performing restricted giving program. As a key strategic partner across Development, Finance, Sport, and NGB stakeholders, this role leads the gift intention process from structuring through execution, chairs the CORE cross-functional team to ensure alignment and delivery, and strengthens the organization's ability to deploy philanthropic capital with clarity, compliance, and impact.

Restricted Giving Management - Principal Gifts & Affinity Groups (40%)
  • Oversee the strategic direction and evolution of the Principal Giving and Affinity Group portfolios, defining priorities, growth opportunities, and long-term positioning within the comprehensive campaign.
  • Serve as the primary architect for scalable funding vehicles (e.g., Performance Innovation Fund, Women's Fund) that align donor interests with enterprise priorities and programmatic impact.
  • Own and govern end-to-end frameworks for gift design, intention setting, acceptance, allocation, and impact reporting, ensuring consistency, transparency, and operational excellence.
  • Identify and lead high-impact initiatives that unlock new principal giving opportunities and deepen donor engagement at the leadership level.
  • Chair and manage the CORE (Campaign Operations and Resource Engagement) cross-functional team to align stakeholders, drive decision-making, and ensure disciplined execution across restricted giving initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with NGB stakeholders and internal partners to align restricted giving opportunities with targeted initiatives and delivery plans.
  • Lead targeted Development division initiatives and special projects that align restricted giving efforts with organizational priorities and growth opportunities.
  • Hire, mentor, and manage restricted giving program staff and related roles. Set clear expectations, foster collaboration, and provide regular feedback to build a high-performing, service-oriented team.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to manage financial reporting, donor engagement, and streamlined workflows for gift acceptance, allocation, and impact reporting across restricted giving initiatives.

Campaign Financial Management & Team Leadership (35%)
  • Lead restricted gift strategy and financial planning, aligning philanthropic investments with campaign goals, sport priorities, and organizational resource planning.
  • Partner with Department leadership to shape the financial framework and narrative for restricted giving within the broader campaign.
  • Oversee restricted gift allocation and financial planning, ensuring alignment with donor intent, organizational priorities, and campaign goals, while contributing to the overall financial narrative and progress tracking.
  • Represent Development on cross-functional initiatives related to financial stewardship, compliance, and resource planning across the USOPC.

NGB Fundraising Partnerships (20%)
  • Define and lead the organization's approach to NGB partnership strategy within the campaign, positioning the Foundation as a central driver of integrated fundraising across sport.
  • Direct and influence NGB leadership to shape customized fundraising strategies that align philanthropic opportunity with performance priorities and business needs.
  • Oversee the design and execution of joint fundraising initiatives, ensuring coordination across Development, Sport Performance, NGB Services, Finance, and Legal.
  • Ensure effective communication of opportunities, requirements, and best practices related to donor engagement, prospect qualification, and gift processing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 10+ years in sport management, fundraising, consulting, or a related field
  • Proven experience managing complex projects, from conception through execution and evaluation
  • Demonstrated ability to support high-performing teams through strategic and operational planning
  • Experience in advancement or fundraising teams is strongly preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills, including active listening, effective questioning, and problem-solving

  • Hiring pay range:
    • CO/National: $120,000 - $140,000 per year
    • LA: $138,000 - $161,000 per year
    • NY: $150,000 - $175,000 per year
    • SF: $158,000 - $185,000 per year
  • This Full-Time, Exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.
  • Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program, which has a 20% target. The USOPC may change or eliminate this program at any time at its sole discretion.
