Lead the Future of Mine Reclamation in Canada

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong reclamation expertise with proven leadership and business development experience.

You will help shape the strategic direction of the practice, expand client relationships, mentor technical professionals, and support some of Canada's most significant mining reclamation and closure initiatives.

This is a leadership opportunity for someone who wants to influence both projects and people while helping grow a nationally recognized reclamation practice.

What You'll Do:
Practice Leadership & Growth:

  • Lead the growth and strategic direction of the Reclamation & Closure Practice
  • Develop annual business plans, growth initiatives, and market strategies
  • Identify opportunities within mining, industrial, and natural resource sectors
  • Help build a high-performing multidisciplinary reclamation team
  • Support recruitment, mentoring, succession planning, and staff development
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on practice expansion initiatives

Business Development & Client Management:
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with mining companies, regulators, Indigenous communities, and industry stakeholders
  • Generate new business opportunities and expand existing client relationships
  • Lead proposals, client presentations, and strategic pursuits
  • Identify emerging market opportunities in mine reclamation, closure planning, and liability management
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and technical events
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client decision-makers

Technical Leadership:
Provide senior oversight and strategic direction for:

  • Mine reclamation planning and implementation
  • Progressive reclamation programs
  • Mine closure plans
  • Closure cost estimates and financial assurance reviews
  • Liability assessments
  • Revegetation and restoration planning
  • End land use planning
  • Reclamation monitoring programs
  • Soil, vegetation, and ecosystem restoration initiatives
  • Regulatory approvals and closure submissions

Industry Leadership:
  • Maintain awareness of evolving closure and reclamation regulations across Canada
  • Support innovation and best practices in reclamation planning and restoration
  • Strengthen the firm's visibility within the mining reclamation sector
  • Contribute to technical publications, presentations, and industry forums

What We're Looking For:
Reclamation Expertise:

  • Strong background in mine reclamation, closure planning, restoration ecology, or related disciplines
  • Experience supporting mining projects throughout the reclamation and closure lifecycle
  • Understanding of reclamation liabilities, closure obligations, and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience working with major mining clients across Canada

Leadership Experience:
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience mentoring technical professionals and future leaders
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high-quality client service
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities

Business Development Experience:
  • Proven ability to develop and grow client relationships
  • Experience identifying and securing new project opportunities

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Reclamation, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Management, or a related discipline
  • Professional designation such as P.Ag., R.P.Bio., P.Geo., P.Eng., or equivalent
  • Qualified Professional (QP) status considered an asset
  • 15+ years of relevant consulting, mining, or reclamation experience
  • Experience managing large, multidisciplinary projects and teams
