Job Title: Director, Project Management Office (PMO)

Compensation: $215,000 - $240,000

The Position:The Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for leading and continuously improving the organization's project delivery function across all nuclear and automation projects. This role provides strategic direction, governance, and operational oversight to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
What You'll be doing:PMO Leadership & Strategy- Provide overall leadership and accountability for the PMO, including structure, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and execute the PMO strategy aligned with organizational goals, growth plans, and customer expectations.
- Develop and maintain scalable project management frameworks, methodologies, tools, and best practices suited to custom automation projects.
- Build a high-performance, customer-focused project delivery culture.
Project Delivery Oversight- Oversee the full lifecycle of critical projects, from kickoff through design, build, installation, and customer acceptance.
- Ensure consistent execution of project governance, including scope management, scheduling, cost control, risk mitigation, and change management.
- Monitor project portfolio performance, including schedule adherence, margin performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Intervene as needed on critical or at-risk projects to ensure successful outcomes.
Stakeholder Management- Serve as the primary escalation point for major project issues internally and with customers.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders (Engineering, Tool Room, Supply Chain, Applications, Sales, Service) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with customers and key external stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Development- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers, and PMO staff.
- Establish clear performance expectations, and accountability across the team.
- Recruit, train, and retain top project management talent.
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For:- 10+ years of experience in project/program management, ideally in custom automation, or engineered-to-order environments.
- 5+ years in a leadership role managing PMO or project teams.
- Deep understanding of complex, multi-disciplinary project environments (mechanical, electrical, controls integration).
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and margin management.
- Expertise in project management methodologies (PMI, Agile where applicable, hybrid models).
- Proven ability to manage large, complex project portfolios.
- Strategic thinker with strong execution focus.
- High accountability, resilience, and decision-making capability in fast-paced environments.
