Director, Project Management and Scrum Master

About Your Role

You will provide strategic leadership for complex technology initiatives while driving Agile delivery excellence across cross-functional teams. You will oversee large-scale programs, lead project managers and Scrum teams, and partner with business and technology stakeholders to ensure successful execution of key organizational priorities. This role combines servant leadership, program governance, and delivery management to help achieve business outcomes while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Coach teams and leaders on Agile frameworks, Scrum methodologies, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technology and business transformation initiatives.
  • Serve as a Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies and ensuring adherence to Agile principles and best practices.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Engineering leaders, and business stakeholders to define priorities, manage dependencies, and align deliverables with strategic objectives.
  • Drive program governance, risk management, issue resolution, and executive-level reporting.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
  • Monitor project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and key performance indicators to ensure successful delivery.
  • Identify and remove impediments impacting team productivity and delivery outcomes.
  • Lead change management efforts and support organizational adoption of Agile practices.
  • Mentor project managers, Scrum Masters, and team members to strengthen delivery capabilities across the organization.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Experience You'll Need to Have

  • 10+ years of project, program, or delivery management experience in a technology-driven environment.
  • 5+ years of experience leading Agile teams as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Project Manager.
  • Experience managing large-scale, cross-functional programs involving multiple stakeholders and business units.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or other scaled Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, or similar platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage risks, dependencies, budgets, timelines, and resource planning.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field, and/or equivalent military experience.


Experience That Would Be Great to Have

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFe Agilist, PMP, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or banking environments.
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale digital transformation or modernization initiatives.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Experience presenting project and program updates to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
