Job Summary

The Director of PMO is responsible for establishing and leading the Project Management Office to ensure alignment with organizational strategy, implementing project management frameworks, and overseeing the project portfolio. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams for successful project execution, monitoring performance metrics, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence in project management. Additionally, the Director manages the project management team, ensures compliance with standards, and provides strategic insights to the executive team for decision-making.

Role Description

  • Establish and lead the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and objectives.
  • Develop and implement project management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices across the organization.
  • Oversee the portfolio of projects, ensuring effective prioritization, resource allocation, and delivery of project milestones.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution, stakeholder engagement, and risk management.
  • Monitor and report on project performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to improve project delivery and outcomes.

Other Requirements
  • Completed Bachelor's degree.
  • 7+ years of progressive program and/or project management experience, including leadership of complex, enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • 4+ years of experience in a management role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large, cross-functional program and/or product portfolios.
  • Strong expertise in program management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.
  • Proven success engaging senior stakeholders and leading through influence within matrixed environments.
  • Ability to travel to SHI, partner, and customer events.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Certification:
  • PMP, PgMP, PMI, or equivalent certification.

Preferred
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent).
  • Experience working within organizations with formal PMO structures.
  • Experience leading both program and product disciplines.
  • Background in digital transformation, operating model change, or large-scale enterprise initiatives.
  • Proven experience leading major IT implementations such as ERP, cloud migrations, core systems modernization, or enterprise platform transformations.


The estimated annual pay range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
