Full Job Description
About the Role

As the Director of Product Marketing, you will own the customer-and-product narrative for our entire portfolio and lead the product marketing team that carries it. This is a leadership role at the center of how we understand our market and how the market understands us. You will build the engine that turns customer signal into both sharper positioning and better products: the research motion, the feedback loop into Product, and the messaging standards that keep our story credible as we launch multiple products at once. You will lead and develop a team of product marketing ICs, setting the bar for craft and making them more effective than they would be alone, while staying close enough to the work to shape the narrative yourself.

You will report to the Head of Product and Corporate Marketing and partner most closely with Product and Engineering, alongside Sales, Customer Success, and RevOps. Enablement and field execution are owned within the broader marketing group; your focus is the narrative, the customer insight that fuels it, and the team that produces it.

Responsibilities

  • Team leadership: Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of product marketing ICs. Set the standard for positioning and messaging craft, and make the team more effective than its members would be alone. Own how product marketing work gets prioritized across a multi-product portfolio.
  • Positioning and narrative ownership: Own and evolve CaptivateIQ's positioning, messaging, and portfolio narrative as we launch new products and expand into broader categories. Ensure the connected suite tells one coherent story rather than a set of separate ones. Set the messaging standard the team executes against, and stay close enough to shape the highest-stakes narratives yourself.
  • Customer and competitive research engine: Build a durable voice-of-customer and competitive intelligence engine, spanning ongoing buyer discovery and structured primary research (win/loss, surveys, segmentation), that informs positioning, sales strategy, and product roadmap decisions. Own the system, not just the individual studies.
  • Roadmap influence: Own the customer-and-market feedback loop into Product. Ensure the signal your team gathers becomes structured, prioritized input that shapes what gets built and why, and build the cadence with Product and EPD that makes that loop repeatable rather than ad hoc.
  • Analyst relations and external credibility: Build CaptivateIQ's external credibility through analyst relations, review sites, and other validation channels, shaping how the market perceives our category leadership.
  • Executive storytelling: Support executive-level storytelling for customers, analysts, and key external audiences, translating our strategy into narratives that land with senior stakeholders.
  • GTM alignment: Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Customer Success, RevOps, and the broader Marketing group to ensure tight alignment and a consistent story from product ideation through launch and beyond. Enablement and field execution sit within the marketing group; you ensure launches reflect the positioning and customer insight your team owns.

Requirements

  • 12+ years in B2B SaaS product marketing or related roles, including 3+ years building, leading, and mentoring teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a customer research and feedback motion and translate it into both product direction and go-to-market strategy.
  • Track record of influencing product decisions at the roadmap level.
  • Comfort with technical products and technical audiences. You can sit with Product and Engineering, understand an architecture, ask the right questions, and find the customer problem in it, and you can coach a team to do the same.
  • Experience leading analyst relations and managing external market perception (Gartner, Forrester, review sites, and other validation channels).
  • B2B SaaS experience selling into enterprise; fluency with RevOps, Finance, or Office-of-the-CFO personas is a strong plus.
  • A structured, evidence-driven approach to research and measurement. You can design win/loss and buyer research, define what success looks like, read the data honestly, and guide decisions with it.
  • Experience with AI tools in your own work, and a credible point of view on positioning AI products to enterprise buyers.
  • Strong competitive-intelligence instinct and the ability to turn it into differentiation that wins deals.
  • Exceptional storyteller and communicator who can serve as an internal and external evangelist for CaptivateIQ, including with executives, analysts, and customers.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive Healthcare: 100% coverage for medical, dental, and vision for all FTEs, with roughly 75% coverage for dependents.
  • Flexible Time Off: Flexible vacation days plus quarterly mental health days to ensure you have the space to recharge.
  • Annual Stipends: Dedicated funds for your professional development and caretaking needs.
  • Work Anniversary Bonuses: Annual bonuses to celebrate your milestones and contributions to the CaptivateIQ team that grow as your tenure does.
  • Retirement Savings (US-Only): A 401(k) plan to help you invest in and secure your future.
  • Premium Tools: The latest Apple hardware to empower you to do your best work.
  • Inclusive Community: Active Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that celebrate shared identities and support our DEI goals by fostering an environment where diverse talent thrives.
