Full Job Description
Position Summary:

What does a Director of Product Management do at Rinnai? The Senior Director of Product Management is responsible for leading the design and development of products that help accelerate RAC's innovation product roadmap. We are looking for a strategic, innovative leader, who can drive product launches. As the Director of Product Management for the growing Residential Space Heating business at Rinnai, you will own and lead customer research, product roadmap development and design, the related Parts & Accessories businesses, along with the expansion of new product lines.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver on 5-year product and technology roadmap for the Residential Space Heating business, with a key focus on growing this product portfolio a minimum of 15% YOY
  • Responsible for owning & growing the related Parts & Accessories businesses
  • Understand existing and potential customers (3-step distribution), and their unique needs and requirements
  • Lead design thinking initiatives to understand the needs of the customers and develop solutions that exceed expectations
  • Define customer features and benefits as well as customer experience
  • Lead Market research & identification - Research North American markets for trends, technologies, and opportunities
  • Lead competitive analysis - Understand competitive landscape and continually manage competitive analysis
  • Manages all aspects of OEM products including communications with Japan
  • Defines unique selling points and market differentiators
  • Establish partnering strategy - leveraging the global partner strategy analyze potential partners, OEM opportunities, and technology innovations
  • Defines channel(s) of distribution
  • Develops and executes entire project plan from concept to launch
  • Drives assumptions in financial models and meets targets
  • Follows and executes Rinnai New Product Development (NPD) Process
  • Facilitates project teams
  • Leads product specification development and approvals
  • Partners closely with the Marketing & Sales teams to drive 'flawless execution' of our go-to-market plans with all stakeholders, including external customers and end consumers
  • Lead the pricing strategy and develop bundling options and proposals
  • Develop the product launch strategy for the business segment - including identifying what products will be launched at key shows, along with building the product strategy for these shows
  • An active contributor to the global product initiatives - including and not limited to platform development, roadmaps, market analytics, competitive analysis, and partnering strategies


Job Requirements:

Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field required
  • Minimum 10 years of product-line management, development or marketing experience and OEM account management
  • Knowledge of durable goods
  • Experience working with Retail / Big Box partners, especially with in-store product placement and annual line reviews
  • Experience in 3-step distribution models
  • Experienced in business financials.
  • Experience in Design Thinking
  • Agile product development process

  • Storytelling capability to build alignment & advocacy on key strategies

  • Strong organization time-management & critical thinking skills.
