Summary

The Product Strategy Director 2 is responsible for defining the go to market strategy as well as defining product vision, positioning, pricing and marketing within the market / segment area of responsibility. They will interface with the senior executives within Celestica and customers in addition to market experts. They will focus on increasing our market awareness, drive our product strategy and increase the market acceptance of Celesticas product offerings. They will work with the Technology Solutions team to contribute to our technology strategy, and the account management leadership group to drive profitable growth and Product Management team to conduct research/launch products.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Responsible for analyzing our competitive positioning and defining our competitive strategy/differentiation.
  • Defines market strategy with penetration plans including target customers.
  • Creates new product strategy/vision and timing.
  • Ensures effective market competitiveness and pricing analysis.
  • Responsible for defining the Go-To-Market strategy.
  • Leads marketing, promotion and launch strategy initiatives.
  • Provides market and technology research, competitive analysis to progress our product and technology strategy.
  • Integrates market knowledge, strategic insight and a strong user focus to help our organization create new products.
  • Partners with senior leaders and clients to develop a range of marketing growth strategies such as customer, product, touchpoint and channel.


Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Strategic problem solving and analytical skills, including experience in structuring high level strategic issues into quantitative analyses and developing actionable recommendations
  • Market knowledge and experience that can have a direct impact on our business
  • Ability to craft market / business unit / customer strategies
  • Robust understanding of how to structure and drive cross-functional programs to deliver on strategic plans

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Overnight travel may be required.


Typical Experience

  • Twelve plus years of applicable experience, including experience in the leadership of a major operations or support organization.
  • Experience in strategic planning and providing leadership to global organizations


Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education in an applicable field and experience. MBA is highly preferred.
