What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC's team, the Director, Product Management will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives on a range of business product lines. You'll be exercising a high degree of independent judgement, providing leadership for business consulting, information architecture activities and deliverables for a team delivering projects. As a Director, you'll develop and maintain internal relationships across the organization in and outside of technology, including negotiating and influencing opinion. In addition, you'll provide sophisticated analysis of complex business information and makes comprehensive recommendations to management including executives and business leaders. You'll drive innovation across areas of responsibility, apply expert interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

How you'll succeed
  • Strategy and planning - Contribute to long-term strategy for the business in collaboration with the Senior Director and other business leaders. Perform in-depth analysis for the purpose of identifying opportunities, developing strategic proposals and competitive strategies and targets the product offering with the objective of increasing business revenue, competitiveness, growing market share and reducing operational costs. Collaborate with internal partners to oversee, communicate, and align business plans and ensure delivery on strategy and plans.
  • Product development - Lead and provide direction to product team members. Oversee development options and proposals related to development or enhancements of specific products or services, assessing the impact, effectiveness and feasibility of proposed changes, and making authoritative recommendations. Responsible for the overall design, development and implementation of new products and product plans. Accountable for the planning and delivery of enhancements and fixes specific to client-facing applications. Contribute to the creation of business cases for new initiatives and enhancements.
  • People management - Lead, motivate and coach on an on-going basis. Identify gaps and remove obstacles to performance, develop action plans to align with business priorities. Create a positive work environment and role model by championing CIBC's mission, vision and values. Comply with policies, standards, guidelines and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect. Who you are
