Full Job Description
How you'll make an impact:

The Director, Planning & Portfolio Management leads the department-level Planning & Portfolio team within Enterprise Planning & Portfolio Management. This role is responsible for the operating backbone that enables P&T to govern its enterprise portfolio with consistency, transparency, and decision quality.

The role manages the team supporting business-critical portfolio operations. This team owns the frameworks, processes, tools, reporting structures, automation, portfolio data products, and AI-enabled knowledge base that support planning and portfolio governance across P&T.

What you'll do:

This leader ensures that portfolio information from Tempo, EOS, Jira, and internal data tools is translated into trusted weekly, monthly, and quarterly rollups for Catalyst operations, Finance, Accounting, P&T Operations, PTLT, and C-suite reporting. The role sits at the intersection of planning, execution, investment governance, operating rhythm, and executive decision support.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain continuity for existing enterprise portfolio operations while continuing to mature the function from manual reporting and local process variation toward scalable systems, standardized governance, and AI-enabled portfolio intelligence.
  • Lead the department-level Planning & Portfolio team responsible for the core infrastructure of P&T portfolio governance, including frameworks, processes, tools, data, automation, reporting, and AI-enabled knowledge management.
  • Drive the use of AI and modern work tools, including Claude, ChatGPT, Glean, and other approved enterprise platforms, to reduce manual effort, improve insight quality, accelerate reporting, and strengthen portfolio decision support.
  • Own the operating mechanisms that support quarterly and annual planning, portfolio intake, prioritization, roadmap governance, initiative tracking, and enterprise portfolio visibility.
  • Ensure portfolio data across Tempo, EOS, Jira, Databricks, and internal data tools is accurate, consistent, timely, and usable for executive reporting, planning decisions, investment reviews, and operational governance.
  • Oversee weekly, monthly, and quarterly portfolio rollups supporting Catalyst operations, Finance, Accounting, P&T Operations, PTLT, and C-suite reporting.
  • Establish and improve standards for portfolio data integrity, initiative metadata, reporting inputs, dependency visibility, delivery health, prioritization signals, and planning artifacts.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, TPM, Finance, Accounting, Catalyst, and P&T Operations leaders to ensure portfolio information supports clear decisions, visible tradeoffs, and reliable execution oversight.
  • Lead portfolio reporting and governance mechanisms that help senior leaders understand what work matters most, what is moving, what is at risk, and where executive decisions are required.
  • Continue evolving portfolio tooling, automation, analytics, and AI-enabled knowledge systems to make portfolio governance more scalable, consistent, and insight-driven across P&T.
  • Coach, develop, and manage a geographically distributed team, including people managers and senior individual contributors as applicable, responsible for portfolio operations, data support, planning execution, reporting, and WBR mechanisms.
  • Own planning, staffing, budgeting, expense-priority recommendations, vendor-management inputs, and operational-change implementation for the Planning & Portfolio function.
  • Serve as the escalation point for portfolio data issues, reporting gaps, planning risks, governance breakdowns, and cross-functional alignment challenges.

What you'll need:
  • 10+ years of portfolio management, program management, or technical operations experience in a large-scale technology or media organization.
  • 5+ years of management experience leading teams, people managers, and/or multi-disciplinary portfolio operations, planning, reporting, or governance functions.
  • Strong financial acumen; direct experience with capitalization, CapEx tracking, or FP&A processes required. Finance, Accounting, CapEx/OpEx, and Investment Reporting Partnership.
  • AI, Automation, and Tooling Strategy for Portfolio Operations required.
  • Vendor Management experience.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership Across Product, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Catalyst, P&T Operations, and TPM.
  • Enterprise Portfolio Governance and Planning Leadership.
  • Portfolio Operating Model Design.
  • Portfolio Data Strategy, Reporting, and Metrics.
  • Executive Communication and Decision Support.
  • People Leadership and Team Development.
  • Systems Thinking and Enterprise Process Design.
  • Strong Judgment in Prioritization, Escalation, Risk, and Tradeoff Management.
  • Ability to translate senior-leadership strategy into actionable operating plans, decision forums, governance standards, and measurable execution routines.
  • Experience ensuring budgets, schedules, work plans, reporting standards, and portfolio operations meet enterprise requirements.
  • Experience with automation and/or AI tools such as chatGPT, Gemini, etc.
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
