Position Overview

N-Power Medicine is hiring a Director, Pharma Delivery Operations to lead a team responsible for the successful execution of NPM-sponsored studies and client contracts. This role sits at the intersection of pharma delivery and clinical operations, owning client relationships and contract performance while ensuring the operational, regulatory, and site-facing rigor needed to run compliant clinical studies. The ideal candidate is a people manager who can lead a team of Pharma Delivery and Clinical Operations staff, hold portfolio-level accountability, and move fluidly between client-facing strategy and clinical operations execution.

This is a hybrid role; Bay Area preferred, remote considered for the right candidate.

Role Objectives and Responsibilities

People Leadership
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Delivery Operations Managers and/or Clinical Operations Leads, setting clear goals and providing regular performance feedback
  • Own hiring, onboarding, and capacity planning for the Delivery Operations team
  • Build team-level processes for knowledge sharing, escalation, and cross-coverage across studies
  • Represent the team's work and needs to the senior organization leadership

Client & Contract Management (Pharma Delivery)
  • Own the Pharma/Biotech client relationship for an assigned portfolio of contracts, serving as the primary point of escalation for delivery risks
  • Ensure teams fully understand contract scope, timelines, and deliverables, and translate contract terms into executable operational plans
  • Drive on-time, on-budget delivery across the portfolio; proactively identify and resolve risks before they reach the client
  • Partner with sales/business development on renewals, scope changes, and expansion opportunities informed by delivery performance

Clinical Operations
  • Oversee study operations across assigned NPM-sponsored studies (e.g., site management, protocol adherence, regulatory/IRB coordination, data quality)
  • Ensure compliance with GCP, IRB requirements, and applicable regulatory frameworks (e.g., 21 CFR, ICH E6(R3)) across the team's studies
  • Support site-level issue resolution, including protocol deviations, site pauses, and enrollment/delivery target management
  • Coordinate with regulatory, quality, and clinical science functions to keep study conduct audit-ready

Portfolio & Reporting
  • Design and maintain KPI tracking at the study and portfolio level; deliver clear, concise reporting to leadership and clients
  • Identify systemic operational gaps or risks across studies and drive process improvements
  • Standardize documentation, communication cadences, and escalation pathways across the team's studies


Education, Experience, Behavioral Competencies, & Skills

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in business, life sciences, or related field preferred
  • 8 - 12 years of experience in clinical operations, delivery/program management, or client operations within healthcare, life sciences, or clinical research
  • Prior people management experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • Prior experience managing client interactions and client operations
  • Working knowledge of GCP, IRB processes, and clinical trial regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder contracts or studies simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills; comfortable building and presenting portfolio-level metrics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience managing client relationships directly

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a sponsor, CRO, or healthcare technology environment
  • Track record scaling operational processes in a high-growth or ambiguous environment
  • Familiarity with project management or CRM tools (e.g., Jira, Hubspot, or similar)
  • Experience with clinical biospecimen management, imaging, registry, or observational study operations a plus


Travel Requirements

Up to 10% of time required to travel in role (out of 100%)

Pay Information

The expected salary range for this position is $215,000 to $245,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. N-Power Medicine (NPM) offers equity at hire as well as a discretionary annual bonus which may be available based on Company performance. This position is eligible for company benefits.
