WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORThe Personal Lines Director drives the overall strategic vision and growth of the assigned Regional Personal Lines department. The Director is responsible for setting long-term strategies, aligning departmental goals with the company's broader objectives, and ensuring that the Personal Lines operations contribute significantly to profitability, market share expansion, and client satisfaction. The Director oversees the Personal Lines Department Manager, making high-level decisions on resource allocation, innovation, and partnerships, and focuses on cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, carriers, and major clients. The individual in this position is responsible for fostering a culture of excellence and ensuring that all teams are aligned with regulatory and operational standards, while spearheading new initiatives to stay competitive in the marketplace.
A GLIMPSE INTO YOUR DAY- Leads and mentors the Personal Lines service team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Participates in strategic planning and contributes to the growth of the Personal Lines business.
- Develops overall department strategies, goals and objectives in order to meet client expectations.
- Collaborates with sales, underwriting, and other departments to align service strategies with organizational objectives.
- Develops and implements efficient workflows and processes to optimize service delivery.
- Ensures high-quality service delivery to clients by training the service team to address inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain strong relationships.
- Monitors and analyzes department performance metrics, ensuring goals are met.
- Maintains a good relationship with key decision makers both internally and externally.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for market coordinators in conjunction with the Regional and National Broking Team.
- Provides leadership with regular reports on departmental performance, analyzing key metrics such as client retention, revenue growth, and employee productivity, and makes data-driven decisions to improve outcomes.
- Ensures department compliance with insurance regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Identifies and mitigates risk within the department.
- Fully adopts innovative technology, including proprietary AI solutions, into the service process to deliver a best-in-class client service experience.
- Performs other projects, duties, and tasks, as assigned.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE- High school diploma or equivalent required. Four year degree preferred.
- A Property and Casualty License from state of domicile is required and must be maintained.
- Minimum 12 years' account management experience in the insurance industry with a focus on Personal lines of coverage is required.
- Experience using EPIC and AMS360 strongly preferred.
- Advanced professional designation highly desirable (e.g. AAI, ARM, CIC, CPCU, CEBS, GBA, RHU, REBC).
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills for both in-person and teleconference/webinar sessions.
- In-depth understanding of advanced Personal lines of coverage.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required to maintain effective relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors and others.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel and Word). Must be computer literate with the ability to learn new software applications.
- Advanced knowledge of insurance markets, products, services, insurance ratings and underwriting procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2-year timeframe.
- Strong ability to listen, discern, prioritize, and negotiate with clients and insurance carrier representatives based on a deep understanding of relevant issues.
- Ability to evaluate and make decisions, recognize potential conflicts and observe appropriate precautions.
- Ability to function effectively under tight time constraints, consistently meet strict deadlines, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment.
- Must have a valid driver's license, the ability to travel and a reliable source of transportation.
