Responsibilities of the Director, People Partnerships and Operations
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for APS' People Partnerships and Operations portfolio, including Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partnerships, Compensation, Payroll and HRIS.
- Partner with executives, senior leaders and people leaders to deliver practical, business-aligned HR advice, programs and services.
- Lead employee and labour relations matters, supporting consistent, fair and values-based approaches to workplace issues.
- Oversee HR operations, systems, reporting and service delivery practices to ensure efficient, accurate and responsive support to the organization.
- Build, coach and develop a capable, collaborative team that demonstrates professionalism, accountability and a strong client service mindset.
- Use workforce data, trends and best practices to identify opportunities, manage risk and strengthen HR programs, processes and outcomes.
- Contribute to HR and organizational priorities that support APS' culture, employee experience and long-term workforce needs.
What you bring
- A university degree in human resources, business administration, commerce or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Progressive senior HR leadership experience, including experience leading teams and advising senior leaders on complex people matters.
- Strong knowledge of employee and labour relations, HR operations, compensation, payroll, HRIS and talent acquisition practices.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships, influence decisions, manage sensitive issues and communicate with professionalism and discretion.
- Experience leading process improvement, service delivery enhancements and change within an HR function.
- Sound judgment, analytical thinking and the ability to balance operational needs, risk, compliance and employee experience.
- A Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is preferred.
