Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field, with Nursing as one of the degrees.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive, house-wide quality and patient safety program.
  • Oversee accreditation, regulatory requirements, risk identification, event analysis, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Manage infection prevention measures and enhance patient experience across facilities.
  • Implement process redesign using Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Aggregate, monitor, report, and develop action plans from safety event data at both unit and house-wide levels.

Director of Patient Safety Position Summary

The Director of Patient Safety has responsibility for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive house-wide quality and patient safety program which includes oversight of all accreditation and regulatory requirements; risk identification, event analysis, and risk mitigation; infection prevention; and patient experience management. This position will also be responsible for patient safety risk identification; process redesign using lean and six sigma and other PI methodologies in pursuit of a zero defect environment; and aggregation, monitoring, reporting and action planning for house-wide and unit-based safety event data.

Director of Patient Services Position Requirements

Minimum Experience:
  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the state of Maryland or a compact state.
  • Masters Degree in Nursing or healthcare related field required (at least one degree must be in Nursing)
  • 5 to 10 years nursing experience required with a minimum of 3 years nursing leadership, project management, or quality oversight required. Experience in leading Nursing Quality Initiatives and Root Cause Analysis that yield improved outcomes and/or patient and staff satisfaction and engagement required.

Preferred:
  • CPHQ or CPPS certification preferred or willing to obtain within 2 years of employment
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt level training preferred or willing to obtain within 1 year of employment
  • Healthcare Risk Management experience preferred

Director of Patient Services Benefits
  • At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
