Job Title: Director, Paid Social (LDB)

Division: Corporate Digital and Marketing Office (CDMO)

Location: New York, NY (USA HQ - Hudson Yards)

Reports To: AVP, Paid Social
What You Will Do

The Director, Paid Social (LDB) will help set the divisional social strategy for L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty (LDB) and oversee the day-to-day work of the agency's hands-on-keyboard social team. This role will connect agency partners with LDB brand media teams, helping develop and manage paid social strategy across the division's brand portfolio.

The Director will continuously analyze performance, develop and implement best practices, and partner with brands and the agency to establish processes and governance for planning and execution. In partnership with the AVP of Paid Social, the Director will also help upskill the organization, develop measurement frameworks and playbooks, and liaise with the global media team to support alignment with L'Oréal guidelines.
Strategic Oversight & Brand Integration

  • Lead the development and management of the LDB divisional social strategy, ensuring alignment with brand goals.
  • Serve as a key connection point between the agency's hands-on-keyboard team and internal brand media.
  • Provide strategic guidance and day-to-day support to LDB Social Leads on paid social initiatives.
  • Establish processes and governance for planning and execution to support high-quality, consistent campaign delivery across the division.
  • Align paid social strategies with LDB brand objectives and consumer needs, while adhering to L'Oreal Global Golden Rules

Campaign Management & Reporting

  • Provide strategic oversight and feedback on paid social plans before presentations to brands.
  • Maintain visibility into brand briefs, strategic channel recommendation discussions, budget shifts and campaign check-ins.
  • Analyze divisional paid social performance and translate findings into clear recommendations and next steps for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with LDB analytics partners on performance analysis and measurement.

Testing & Innovation

  • Identify relevant innovations, opportunities and technologies with external partners for LDB divisional or brand adoption and testing.
  • Partner with LDB teams to aggregate campaign learnings and identify testing opportunities and capabilities.
  • Help develop a learning agenda that supports ongoing testing, optimization, and innovation across the division.
  • Develop measurement frameworks and playbooks to address key business questions and support L'Oréal USA.
  • Partner with CDMO and LDB CDMO to monitor Golden Rules compliance and track progress against learning agendas.

Skills Required

  • Expertise in social advertising platforms, including Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Snap, Reddit and X, with a track record of delivering measurable business results.
  • Ability to develop and implement media best practices across distinct social media ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of strategic planning and digital program implementation across the consumer journey.
  • Ability to translate brand and campaign objectives into strategic recommendations and optimizations.
  • Experience working with agency partners and internal teams, including providing strategic direction and feedback.
  • Ability to analyze performance and communicate investment results, insights and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Strong executive-level presentation, communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and create clarity in a developing, cross-functional capability.
  • Curiosity about social media trends, marketplace conditions and new technologies.

Judgment and Decision Making

This role requires analytical, communication and data-management skills, as well as the ability to develop consumer insights and act on them in collaboration with internal brand teams and external partners. The Director will work across a matrixed business structure-including Media, Marketing and Commercial teams-to coordinate work and deliver objectives.

The role also requires building strong working relationships, developing deep knowledge of the LDB business, and influencing partners to introduce effective ways of engaging consumers through paid social. Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, time management and prioritization are essential.
