Full Job Description
SUMMARY: Provides direct patient care, managerial, and administrative duties in assigned acute care departments. Communicates with physicians, nurses, and other staff about patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in conditions or response to treatment. Supervises and coordinates day-to-day staff operations.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of five years progressively responsible nursing experience in a hospital acute care setting required. Supervisory experience preferred.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Current Texas RN license or RN Compact licensure. Current CPR certification. ALCS Certification required within one year for all departments, additional requirements:
OB-NRP required within one year.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of accreditation process. Knowledge of National Patient Safety Goals
