Full Job Description
THE ROLE

Director of White Glove Logistics & Transportation

We are seeking a Director of White Glove Logistics & Transportation to join our growing team. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role at the center of Quince's customer experience - responsible for designing and scaling the end-to-end logistics network that delivers our largest, most complex products directly into customers' homes. In this role, you will own the long-term transportation and fulfillment strategy for our White Glove business, building a best-in-class delivery network that balances speed, cost, and customer satisfaction as we scale nationally.

Responsibilities

Network Strategy & Design
  • Own the long-term logistics strategy for the White Glove business across North America
  • Design an optimized network that balances delivery speed, customer experience, and cost
  • Determine optimal warehouse footprint, inventory positioning strategy, and service territories
  • Continuously evaluate where inventory should be stored based on customer demand and growth projections
  • Develop multi-year network expansion plans to support continued business growth
  • Identify opportunities to reduce touches while improving overall transit times

Transportation Strategy
  • Own transportation strategy across every stage of the supply chain: inbound, warehousing, inventory movement, middle-mile, and final-mile White Glove delivery
  • Determine optimal transportation modes and design scalable middle-mile solutions
  • Optimize shipment consolidation opportunities and improve inbound flow into warehouse partners
  • Reduce transportation cost without sacrificing customer experience

Vendor Sourcing & Commercial Management
  • Source and onboard warehouse partners and White Glove delivery providers across North America
  • Develop RFPs, evaluate vendor capabilities, and lead commercial negotiations for all logistics partners
  • Negotiate pricing, SLAs, and service guarantees; continuously benchmark providers against market alternatives
  • Build redundancy into the network while avoiding unnecessary complexity
  • Determine when to diversify vendors versus expanding existing relationships

Warehouse & Inventory Strategy
  • Determine optimal warehouse footprint to support delivery promises
  • Establish inventory placement strategy across facilities and define warehouse operating standards and KPIs
  • Improve inbound receiving and stock-in processes; reduce inventory aging through better positioning strategies

Operational Excellence
  • Develop scalable operating standards across all logistics partners
  • Drive improvement across inbound receiving speed, stock-in timing, warehouse productivity, order processing, delivery scheduling, first-attempt delivery success, damage reduction, claims management, and reverse logistics
  • Create standardized scorecards for all partners and build executive-level KPI dashboards

Qualifications

Required:
  • 10+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, fulfillment, or supply chain leadership
  • 5+ years directly managing large third-party logistics providers, with full ownership of performance and commercial terms
  • Experience designing multi-node distribution networks (warehouse placement, inventory positioning, service territory decisions)
  • Experience managing White Glove, furniture, bulky goods, or oversized delivery networks, including in-home delivery complexity
  • Strong transportation sourcing and contract negotiation experience; has led large RFP processes end-to-end
  • Strong financial and analytical skills; able to build cost models and make data-driven trade-offs
  • Experience building executive dashboards and KPI reporting
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without direct authority
  • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills

Preferred:
  • Experience building a logistics network from early-stage growth through national scale
  • Experience managing warehouse partnerships and evaluating build vs. buy operational strategies
  • Familiarity with inventory optimization models and demand-based positioning
  • Direct-to-consumer or e-commerce background
  • MBA or advanced degree

Pay Range: $186,000 - $248,000

All posted ranges are reflective of base salary and may vary depending upon experience level and location. Bonus and equity may also be provided for eligible roles.
