Director of Used Vehicles Leadership Opportunity | Inventory Strategy | High-Income PotentialWhat You'll DoAs the Director of Used Vehicles, you'll oversee all aspects of the pre-owned department while driving sales performance, inventory strategy, profitability, and team success.
Inventory & Merchandising Management- Source and acquire quality pre-owned inventory through auctions, trades, and direct purchases
- Appraise trade-ins and determine competitive market values
- Analyze market trends and adjust pricing strategies to maximize profitability and inventory turn
- Ensure inventory is properly merchandised, reconditioned, and front-line ready
- Monitor aging inventory and implement strategies to maintain healthy inventory levels
Sales & Department Leadership- Manage all daily operations of the used vehicle department
- Work closely with the sales team to drive pre-owned vehicle sales performance
- Develop, coach, and motivate sales staff to improve productivity and customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with finance, service, and leadership teams to ensure smooth dealership operations
- Review department KPIs, sales reports, and profitability metrics regularly
Customer Experience & Operational Excellence- Maintain strong customer relationships and assist with escalated customer concerns when necessary
- Ensure compliance with company policies, manufacturer standards, and legal requirements
- Create a positive, high-performing, and team-oriented department culture
- Drive operational excellence while delivering an exceptional customer experience
What You Bring- Previous Used Car Manager experience or strong automotive sales management background required
- Proven track record of driving sales performance and department profitability
- Strong knowledge of appraisals, auctions, inventory acquisition, and market-based pricing strategies
- Leadership mentality with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Analytical mindset with strong decision-making abilities
