Hiring Salary: $6,735.34 - $9,429.47/Monthly

The Director of University Admissions and Recruitment provides leadership and oversight of institution-level recruitment and admissions functions to support institutional enrollment goals across six health sciences colleges. This position partners with college admissions personnel to design and implement data-driven strategies to attract a high-quality student population, while overseeing all institution-level admissions operations, compliance, and policy development. A critical component of the position is expertise in Slate CRM, including backend configuration, which is used to manage and optimize the entire enrollment lifecycle-leveraging analytics, automation, and targeted communications to drive recruitment and yield.

Responsibilities

  1. Directs and oversees central admissions operations, including application services, transfer credit evaluation, and admissions processing.
  2. Develops, implements, and maintains admissions policies, procedures, and operational standards, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
  3. Serves as the institutional lead for Slate CRM, with advanced expertise in both front-end functionality and backend configuration, including data structures, queries, workflows, forms, portals, and integrations.
  4. Manages and optimizes the full recruitment and admissions lifecycle within Slate, from prospect generation through application, decision, and matriculation.
  5. Provides strategic leadership and oversight for all central admissions and recruitment functions in alignment with the institutional strategic enrollment plan.
  6. Collaborates with campus and college partners to design and implement data-driven recruitment strategies to support the institution's strategic enrollment plan.
  7. Analyzes enrollment data, funnel metrics, and the competitive health sciences landscape to identify emerging markets and recruitment opportunities.
  8. Collaborates with college partners to develop and execute targeted recruitment campaigns and yield strategies leveraging Slate's segmentation, automation, and analytics capabilities.
  9. Monitors application flow and enrollment data to adapt operations to changing trends and institutional needs.
  10. Leads and coordinates recruitment initiatives, including campus visits, tours, events, and ambassador programs to enhance prospective student engagement and conversion.
  11. Advances best practices in strategic enrollment management and fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree. (Master's Degree preferred.) (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Seven (7) years of experience in progressively increasing positions of responsibility in a higher education setting or closely related enrollment management office, including supervisory experience; OR Master's Degree and five (5) years of experience in a higher education setting or closely related enrollment management office, including supervisory experience. Experience in Banner SIS, Slate, or related software is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, tact and political savvy.
  • Ability to enhance the visibility and public image of the University and be a leader within the UT System and the State of Tennessee.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and application of FERPA and other pertinent higher education regulations and laws.
  • Strategic planning and implementation of service and operation enhancements in the Admission's Office.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with various offices (academic and non-academic) across the University.
  • Demonstrated high-level skills in problem-solving and change management.
  • Ability to provide high-level customer and student services directly and indirectly.
  • Ability to work independently and with a high-performing team to meet priorities and deadlines.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings. May frequently require 25% of the time to travel.
