Job Summary

The Director of Transportation & Warehousing s is responsible for leading RTC's global logistics strategy and operations across transportation, warehousing, distribution, importation, customs and trade compliance, and material flow. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the movement, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods across domestic and international supply chains, including product shipped into and out of RTC's U.S. distribution centers.

As RTC's senior logistics leader and subject matter expert in global trade, the Director is accountable for transportation, warehousing, and distribution performance; reducing total landed cost; ensuring regulatory compliance; improving service and inventory performance; and building scalable logistics capabilities to support company growth.

The role partners closely with Procurement, Operations, Finance, Planning, Sales, and Customer Service to strengthen end-to-end supply chain performance, resolve operational issues, and ensure effective execution across RTC's logistics network.

Responsibilities
• Own and execute RTC's domestic and international transportation and logistics strategy, including the movement of product into and out of U.S. distribution centers.
• Oversee transportation performance and execution, ensuring significant service disruptions, capacity constraints, expedited freight, and other issues impacting supply or customer delivery are effectively resolved.
• Optimize transportation networks, freight spend, carrier performance, service levels, and supply chain resilience.
• Lead carrier and logistics provider strategy, selection, contract negotiations, performance expectations, and strategic relationships.
• Establish transportation KPIs and hold the organization and external partners accountable for cost, service, reliability, and capacity performance.
• Ensure premium and expedited freight is effectively managed and corrective actions are implemented to reduce avoidable transportation costs.

Warehousing, Distribution & Operational Excellence
• Provide overall leadership and accountability for RTC's warehousing and distribution operations, including receiving, storage, inventory movement, fulfillment, and shipping.
• Ensure the timely and effective flow of product into and out of RTC's U.S. distribution centers while meeting customer delivery, inventory, and operational requirements.
• Establish performance expectations for safety, inventory accuracy, productivity, labor utilization, fulfillment, capacity, and on-time shipping and ensure corrective actions address performance gaps.
• Establish operating standards and continuous improvement priorities while optimizing warehouse capacity, layout, material flow, and storage strategies.
• Ensure effective inventory control processes and accountability for inventory accuracy across warehousing and distribution operations.
• Maintain appropriate visibility within warehouse and distribution operations to understand performance issues and ensure effective execution.
• Sponsor automation, material-handling, process standardization, and technology initiatives that improve productivity, scalability, and service.
• Ensure warehouse and distribution operations meet company safety, quality, security, and regulatory requirements.

Global Trade & Import Compliance
• Own RTC's importation, customs, and global trade compliance programs and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Establish requirements related to customs regulations, HTS classifications, country of origin, valuation, Incoterms, and import/export activities.
• Oversee import performance and significant customs or compliance issues, ensuring appropriate resolution with brokers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Develop strategies to reduce tariff exposure, optimize duties and total landed cost, and support global sourcing decisions.

Technology & Supply Chain Capability
• Establish logistics technology priorities and sponsor implementation and optimization of ERP, WMS, TMS, shipment visibility, and logistics analytics capabilities.
• Ensure logistics systems and data provide the visibility and capabilities necessary to effectively manage operational performance.
• Approve and sponsor business cases for logistics technology, automation, and network optimization investments.

Financial & Business Leadership
• Own logistics budgets and overall freight, warehousing, distribution, and landed-cost performance, establishing priorities to improve cost and service.
• Partner with Procurement, Finance, Operations, and other leaders on sourcing, network, investment, and strategic supply chain decisions.

Leadership
• Lead and develop high-performing transportation, logistics, warehouse, distribution, inventory control, and trade compliance teams with clear accountability for safety, quality, service, productivity, and cost.
• Establish the logistics operating cadence and hold leaders accountable for performance gaps, corrective actions, and sustained results.

Qualifications

Education
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field required.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience
• Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in logistics, transportation, global trade, warehousing, distribution, or supply chain management.
• Demonstrated experience leading domestic and international transportation, importation, customs compliance, warehousing, distribution, and third-party logistics providers.
• Proven success negotiating transportation contracts, optimizing freight and distribution networks, managing logistics costs, and improving operational performance.
• Experience leading warehouse and distribution operations in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Experience managing multi-site or complex logistics operations strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Extensive knowledge of transportation, customs regulations, import/export compliance, Incoterms, HTS classifications, tariff management, and global trade requirements.
• Strong understanding of warehousing, distribution, inventory control, material flow, and fulfillment operations.
• Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including freight optimization, landed-cost analysis, logistics budgeting, and productivity management.
• Experience with ERP, TMS, WMS, logistics analytics, and related supply chain technology.
• Demonstrated ability to use operational data and KPIs to identify issues, establish priorities, and deliver measurable results.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
• Ability to operate effectively at both the strategic and tactical levels, maintaining appropriate involvement in operational performance and problem resolution.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is budgeted for $139,230-$225,552, with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary depends on various factors and could be above or below the range depending on the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, business needs, and market demand. The full salary range for this role reflects this position's competitive labor market value and provides an opportunity to progress as associates grow and develop within the role. Bonuses are paid based on RTC's financial results. Any payouts awarded in the first year of employment are pro-rated based on the start date. Program rules are subject to change at management's discretion.
