Full Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead all entry-level technical training and workforce development initiatives.
  • Design and implement structured technician development programs.
  • Train and mentor new technicians in:
    • HVAC fundamentals
    • Building automation and controls
    • Fire alarm systems
    • Electronic security systems
    • Mechanical systems and preventive maintenance
  • Conduct hands-on field training, ride-alongs, and real-world jobsite instruction.
  • Build apprenticeship-style development programs focused on long-term technician growth.
  • Teach safety practices, tool usage, troubleshooting, communication, and field professionalism.
  • Evaluate trainee performance and provide coaching, development plans, and career guidance.
  • Partner with recruiters, trade schools, workforce programs, and hiring managers to identify and onboard entry-level talent.
  • Assist recruiting teams in evaluating candidates for technical aptitude, attitude, and long-term growth potential.
  • Develop training materials, onboarding standards, and technical development pathways.
  • Promote retention and career advancement of newly hired employees.
  • Manage training budgets, certifications, vendor partnerships, and educational resources.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety standards.
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • 10+ years of field experience in HVAC, controls, fire alarm, security, mechanical services, or related technical industries.
  • Strong passion for mentoring and developing inexperienced employees.
  • Proven leadership experience managing technical training or workforce development programs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Strong operational and field-service knowledge.
  • Experience developing apprenticeship, onboarding, or certification programs.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with operations, HR, and recruiting teams.
  • Excellent presentation, mentoring, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to simplify technical concepts for new employees.
  • OSHA certifications and industry certifications preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to jobsites and training locations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic recruiting technology.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Physical Demands: Constant sitting, walking short distances, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above and/or below shoulder, handling/grasping documents or office equipment, clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in-person and/or on the telephone, vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data, repetitive motions for computer equipment use, lift 25 lbs. occasionally, 5-10 lbs. frequently to lift/carry/move objects, files and documents.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.

Work Environment: Work is performed in an office environment with air conditioning and bright lights.
