Full Job Description
EAGLE is seeking a Director of Technical Services to oversee all technical aspects of the food certification process, including developing, maintaining and ensuring technical positions to the standards ensuring the integrity of assessments, and staying abreast of industry trends to ensure the certification remains relevant and reliable, while collaborating with other departments within the organization to deliver high-quality certifications.

Responsibilities include:

Technical Compliance & Standards: Develop, maintain, and enforce technical standards, procedures, and policies that govern Food Certification audits to ensure program integrity and consistency.

Operational Oversight: Oversee the daily operations of technical services, including auditing activities, documentation, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.

Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, train, and mentor technical staff, including auditors and technical managers, to support high-quality audit performance and professional development.

Technical Strategy: Assess, implement, and enhance technical tools, software, and systems to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency across certification operations.

Stakeholder Management: Serve as a key liaison with clients, accreditation bodies, and regulatory agencies to address technical inquiries and maintain alignment with certification requirements.

Balanced Scorecard: Collaborate with the management team to develop and utilize the Balanced Scorecard to monitor progress and support the execution of organizational strategy.

New Product Development: Contribute to the evaluation, prioritization, and development of new certification products and services.

Key Processes: Provide oversight of auditor-related processes and deliver technical guidance and support across all EAGLE departments.

Customer Service: Support and participate in service-related processes across the organization to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Resource Management: Support the development of EAGLE team members and auditors, and assist in managing and developing contractors, business partners, and vendors.

Compliance: Assist with internal and external compliance activities and support the effective use of the organization's change management processes.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or biochemistry.
  • Experience in management systems in a regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects.
  • Requires high-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and database software.
  • Basic understanding of business accounting and finance principles.
  • Skilled at organizing and conveying detailed and complex information to diverse individuals and groups in a clear and effective manner.
  • Effective communicator and trainer: able to listen to diverse opinions and formulate logical and practical solutions to registration and compliance challenges.
  • Advanced in writing and editing technical and procedural materials.
