Responsibilities
The Director of Talent Acquisition position is a highly specialized role that requires expert knowledge in recruiting including requisition evaluation, implementing Service Level Agreements, and implementing and executing an organized interview process. The Director of Talent Acquisition is responsible for aligning the Talent Acquisition strategy with business unit's short and long-term goals through managing staffing needs and improving business practices.

The Director of Talent Operations oversees the day-to-day operations of the Talent Acquisition function at Fontainebleau Miami Beach and supports the execution of recruitment initiatives established by Human Resources leadership.
This role manages a high-volume recruitment environment and oversees the full-cycle hiring process for hourly and salaried positions across the property. The Director works closely with operational leaders to identify staffing needs, coordinate recruitment efforts, and maintain an efficient and compliant hiring process within a unionized hospitality environment.
The Director also oversees onboarding operations and ensures adherence to company policies, collective bargaining agreements, and regulatory requirements throughout the hiring and onboarding lifecycle.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Talent Acquisition Operations
- Oversee the daily operations of the Talent Acquisition function to support hiring needs across all hotel departments.
- Manage requisition intake, candidate sourcing, interview coordination, and hiring workflows in alignment with established Human Resources procedures and approval processes.
- Ensure timely hiring to support operational staffing needs while maintaining established hiring standards.
Leadership & Team Oversight
- Supervise and provide directions to Onboarding Specialists and Talent Acquisition staff responsible for processing new hires and supporting recruitment operations.
- Establish performance expectations and ensure efficiency across recruiting and onboarding activities.
- Provide coaching, training, and development to team members while promoting collaboration between Talent Acquisition, HR partners, and operational leadership.
Recruitment Operations
- Manage high-volume recruitment pipelines across multiple operational departments including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Culinary, Retail, Spa, and other resort functions.
- Coordinate candidate sourcing through job boards, career fairs, hospitality networks, and community partnerships.
- Support recruitment marketing initiatives and maintain a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
Hiring Process & Interview Management
- Facilitate the structured hiring process from requisition approval through offer stage while ensuring required internal approvals are obtained.
- Maintain consistency in interview processes, candidate evaluation, and hiring documentation.
- Train hiring managers on interview techniques, structured interviewing practices, and recruitment procedures.
- Ensure hiring managers are properly utilizing the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) throughout the recruitment process.
Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Oversight
- Oversee administration and utilization of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), including requisition management, candidate workflow, and reporting.
- Provide training and guidance to hiring managers and HR team members on ATS functionality and recruitment processes.
- Ensure recruitment data and candidate records are accurately maintained within the system.
Onboarding & Pre-Employment Process
- Oversee onboarding operations including background checks, employment verification, documentation, and orientation scheduling.
- Oversee pre-adverse and adverse action processes related to background screening compliance.
- Coordinate New Hire Orientation to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for incoming team members.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
Union Environment Compliance
- Ensure recruitment and hiring practices comply with applicable collective bargaining agreements and union guidelines.
- Partner with Labor Relations and Human Resources leadership to ensure hiring processes align with union requirements, seniority provisions, and contractual obligations.
Immigration & J-1 Program Oversight
- Oversee administration of the J-1 Visa internship and trainee program, including coordination with program sponsors and internal operational departments.
- Ensure compliance with immigration-related documentation and program requirements.
- Maintain the monthly visa and work authorization report to monitor employee eligibility and expiration timelines.
Referral Program Management
- Oversee and administer the employee referral program, ensuring proper communication, tracking, and processing of referral incentives.
- Monitor referral activity and effectiveness as a recruiting source.
Career Fairs & Recruitment Events
- Coordinate participation in external career fairs, hospitality school recruitment events, and community hiring initiatives.
- Support and organize internal career fairs and internal mobility events to promote internal advancement opportunities for current team members.
Job Description Management
- Review and update job descriptions to ensure accuracy in duties, qualifications, and organizational alignment.
- Partner with department leaders and Human Resources to maintain consistent and compliant job documentation.
Market & Wage Analysis
- Conduct periodic wage and market comparisons utilizing external platforms such as Indeed and other industry sources to monitor compensation competitiveness.
- Provide hiring market insights to Human Resources leadership to support recruitment planning.
Hiring Manager Partnership
- Partner with department leaders to understand staffing needs and coordinate recruitment efforts.
- Provide guidance on hiring processes, candidate qualifications, and recruitment timelines.
- Communicate hiring updates and recruitment progress to operational leadership.
Metrics & Reporting
- Maintain Talent Acquisition reports including weekly open position reports and requisition aging reports, and Monthly Metrics.
- Provide updates to Human Resources leadership regarding recruitment performance and hiring progress.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support recruitment-related projects and initiatives as assigned by Human Resources leadership.
- Perform other related duties to support the Human Resources department and operational staffing needs.
Qualifications
- 7 years professional experience with a combination of Agency, Field Recruiting and Corporate leadership is ideal.
- Experience utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems including iCIMS preferred. Bilingual a plus.
- Strong customer service orientation.
