Director of Studio Operations - NY/NJ/CT
We're seeking a Director of Studio Operations to lead performance and operational excellence across our established studio portfolio in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

You'll oversee a team of approximately Studio/Area Managers and Front Desk Staff, setting the standard for how our studios run day to day while developing your managers into stronger, more effective leaders.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you'll own studio performance across the region, drive client acquisition and retention at scale, build and coach a high-performing management team, and partner with Marketing and Training & Development to grow SLT's presence throughout the NY/NJ/CT market.

A strong fit for this role has proven multi-unit management experience, and the ability to lead a team to drive results across a diverse, mature studio base.

Team Leadership & Manager Development:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and performance of a portfolio of SLT studios through a team of Studio Managers.
  • Establish clear operational standards, performance expectations, and accountability across all assigned studios.
  • Partner with Studio Managers to drive revenue growth, class utilization, client acquisition, retention, and overall studio profitability.
  • Review studio performance on a regular basis, identify trends and opportunities, and develop action plans to improve results.
  • Ensure consistent execution of SLT's operating procedures, brand standards, and customer experience across all locations.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement processes that improve studio performance, team productivity, and client experience.
  • Support the development and implementation of scalable operating systems and processes as SLT grows.
  • Maintain regular communication with the COO regarding studio performance, challenges, opportunities, and priorities.


Revenue Growth and Community Development:
  • Partner with Studio Managers to develop and execute market-specific strategies to drive client acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
  • Establish best practices for first-time client experiences, personalized outreach, client follow-ups, and loyalty initiatives.
  • Guide managers in building relationships with local influencers, community leaders, fitness professionals, complementary brands, and strategic partners.
  • Ensure effective execution of corporate marketing campaigns, promotions, and local community initiatives.
  • Partner with Marketing to evaluate performance and improve local studio growth strategies.-


Schedule & Performance Optimization:
  • Ensure that all classes run on time and on schedule across the portfolio, including oversight of instructor sub coverage in collaboration with Training & Development.
  • Analyze class and studio performance on a regular basis across the portfolio, looking for opportunities to:
    • optimize instructor allocations
    • optimize class types (Essentials, Hardcore, etc.)
    • add new class times


Facilities, Equipment & Studio Standards:
  • Ensure each studio is well-maintained and that all maintenance issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Oversee upkeep and maintenance of machines and equipment across the portfolio.
  • Assist in the performance management of instructor operations in collaboration with Training & Development, including monitoring punctuality, professionalism, client interaction, and adherence to studio marketing and sales responsibilities.
  • Ensure a consistent, high-quality front desk and client experience across all studios.


Customer Service & Client Management:
  • Ensure managers handle client inquiries and resolve issues so that clients feel heard and valued in a timely and professional manner.
  • Drive client retention across the portfolio through personalized follow-ups, milestone recognition, and a focus on rewarding loyalty.


Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of management experience in multi-unit fitness, wellness, hospitality, or multi-unit retail
  • Demonstrated success building, developing, and holding accountable a team of managers
  • Self-starter with strong managerial and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and think and react quickly
  • Ability to work flexible, non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Willingness to travel regularly between NY/NJ/CT studios
