About the Role

This is a hybrid role. Team members are required to be in the Miamisburg, Ohio office weekly on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.

Reporting to the Vice President & General Manager, the Director of Strategy is responsible for driving the strategic direction and long-term growth of the Small Law business. This role partners closely with executive leadership to identify growth opportunities, evaluate market dynamics, shape strategic priorities, and lead high-impact initiatives that accelerate revenue growth and strengthen competitive position.

The Director serves as a strategic advisor to the General Manager, translating data, customer insights, competitive intelligence, and financial performance into actionable business and product roadmap strategies. Success in this role requires exceptional analytical skills, strong executive communication, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams to execute against strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Growth

  • Lead development and execution of the Small Law segment's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and long-term growth goals.

  • Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, product expansion opportunities, and strategic initiatives that drive sustainable revenue growth.

  • Develop strategic product roadmap recommendations supported by customer insights, competitive intelligence, financial analysis, and market research.

  • Partner with executive leadership to prioritize strategic investments and resource allocation.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Monitor market trends, customer behavior, competitive activity, and industry developments within the legal technology ecosystem.

  • Develop market assessments that identify emerging opportunities, risks, and strategic implications.

  • Evaluate the competitive landscape and recommend strategies to strengthen market positioning and differentiation.

Strategic Analysis & Business Performance

  • Gather and synthesize data from multiple sources—including customer, product, financial, revenue, and operational metrics—to support strategic decision making.

  • Develop business cases, financial models, and scenario analyses to evaluate strategic opportunities and investments.

  • Monitor key business performance indicators and identify opportunities to improve growth, profitability, and operational effectiveness.

Strategic Execution

  • Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment across Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Success, and Operations.

  • Establish success metrics and monitor progress to ensure strategic initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes.

  • Drive accountability across stakeholders while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Executive Communications

  • Prepare executive-level presentations, business reviews, and Board-quality materials that clearly communicate strategic recommendations and business performance.

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership with clarity, confidence, and data-driven insights.

Corporate Development

  • Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and other growth opportunities to determine strategic and financial fit.

  • Support due diligence efforts and integration planning as needed.

Requirements

  • MBA or equivalent combination of education and relevant business experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, business strategy, investment banking, corporate development, or related strategic roles.

  • Demonstrated success developing and executing business strategies that drive measurable growth and business performance.

  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience building financial models, business cases, and executive-level analyses.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Experience within SaaS, B2B software, technology, or subscription-based businesses strongly preferred.

  • Experience in legal technology, legal services, or adjacent professional services markets is a plus.

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $136,100 - $252,800. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.

This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
