Job Description:

This position will facilitate and coordinate strategic planning and initiatives assigned to the Office of Academic Affairs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning: Work closely with the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Senior Associate Provost for Academic Affairs, the Senior Associate Provost for Digital Innovations and Academic Services, and the Vice Chancellor of Global Affairs to coordinate academic and strategic initiatives. Help facilitate and coordinate immediate and long-term strategic planning within the Office of Academic Affairs.
  • Lead specific strategic initiatives as assigned by the Senior Vice Chancellor; provide oversight and coordination for those initiatives and ensure compliance with SUNY policies and accreditation standards.
  • Track the planning, design, implementation, and assessment of the portfolio of initiatives assigned across Academic Affairs, in collaboration with the Senior Associate Provost for Academic Affairs, the Senior Associate Provost for Digital Innovations and Academic Services, and the Vice Chancellor of Global Affairs. Create a regular cadence of milestones and reporting, track deliverables, due dates, key staff involved, current status, and key talking points and provide regular updates.
  • Help draft briefings, updates, and progress reports on strategic initiatives and other communications on behalf of the Office of Academic Affairs.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Track and facilitate needed collaborations between Academic Affairs and other units in SUNY Administration and with campuses as needed;
  • Serve as the delegate of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs as needed.

  • Master's degree or higher.
  • Project management experience, including managing initiatives and coordinating multiple strategic priorities required.

Additional Information:

  • Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $97,000-$102,000 annually.
  • The posted salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position. Individual starting salaries are determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. While the full range is provided for transparency, starting salaries generally fall near the entry to midpoint of the range. Salaries at or near the top of the range are rare and reserved for candidates who exceptionally exceed all posted requirements.
