Pay Range: $96,000 - $106,000

Full Time

Shift Schedule: Sunday -Thursday, 9:00 AM- 5:30 PM (flexible)

Summary:

The Director of Spiritual Services provides inclusive spiritual and emotional support to residents, families, and staff. The role leads services, counseling, and programs that honor diverse beliefs and work with community teams to support residents through transitions, grief, and moments of personal meaning.

Essential Function:

  • Builds trusting relationships with residents and families through presence, active listening, pastoral support, and regular visits.
  • Provides spiritual and emotional care during illness, grief, loss, and end-of-life situations.
  • Leads or coordinates worship services, spiritual groups, memorials, and special observances that respect residents' varied faith traditions.
  • Partners with clergy and faith leaders from multiple traditions to ensure residents have access to meaningful spiritual resources.
  • Supports new residents as they transition into the community by offering spiritual orientation and engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to help identify and respond to residents' spiritual and emotional needs.
  • Develops and facilitates diverse spiritual-wellness programs supporting holistic well-being.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation and communication of spiritual care needs or observations.
  • Participates in community events and initiatives that nurture purpose, connection, and meaning.


Credentials:
Essential:

* CPE, Completion of one or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)

Nonessential:

* Certification, Completion of full CPE residency (4 units) and/or eligibility for Board Certification (APC, ACPE, NACC, NAJC, or equivalent)

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:

*Master's Degree of Divinity (MDiv), Theological Studies (MTS), Pastoral Studies (MPS), or related graduate degree in theology, chaplaincy, or spiritual care.

Nonessential:

* Coursework or training in gerontology, grief support, palliative care, or interfaith spiritual care

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:

* 3 Years experience as an ordained and practicing minister or spiritual-care provider in a congregational, chaplaincy, or pastoral setting.

Nonessential:

* 1 Year experience providing spiritual care in assisted living, senior living, hospice, hospital, or other multi-faith or healthcare environments.
