Job Description

As a Director of Network & Infrastructure Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within Network Product Line, you are responsible for building and leading high-performing teams that sit at the intersection of network engineering (LAN/WAN, routing/switching, WiFi, cellular/satellite, SD-WAN/SSE, network security) and software engineering (automation platforms, cloud-native services, CI/CD, reliability tooling, and operational analytics).

Job responsibilities
  • People leadership: Hire, develop, coach, and retain engineers and managers; set clear expectations, run performance management and talent planning, and build succession plans.
  • Lead and mentor teams delivering outcomes across network security, WiFi, cellular, satellite, switching & routing (LAN/WAN), SSE, SD-WAN, and the software platforms that operate and automate these domains.
  • Drive multiple complex initiatives and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Own execution for your area: make decisions influencing team resourcing, budget, tactical operations, delivery plans, and operating procedures.
  • Carry governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success including cost of ownership, maintainability, operability, and portfolio health.
  • Champion network automation and modern engineering practices (automation-first, standard tooling, infrastructure-as-code patterns, APIs/services, test discipline) to improve speed, resiliency, and operational consistency.
  • Deliver technical solutions and platforms that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains.
  • Ensure technical compliance, risk, and security controls are adopted and that solutions meet SLA, scalability, resiliency, stability, and performance requirements.
  • Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology; manage complex stakeholder environments and large cross-functional programs.
  • Champion the firm's culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect, prioritizing diverse representation.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 12+ years of technology experience with relevant technologies and 6+ years leading people/teams in software and Network infrastructure domains
  • Deep expertise designing, implementing, and evolving network solutions to customer needs, with demonstrated focus on resiliency, security, and stability.
  • Proven track record driving network automation and scaling engineering practices across teams.
  • Experience developing and leading cross-functional teams of technologists in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Experience leading a product area as a Product Owner and/or Product Manager (roadmap, prioritization, outcomes).
  • Strong talent leadership: hiring, developing, recognizing talent; building inclusive teams and strong engineering culture.
  • Technical foundation in Enterprise Networks,Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience in banking/financial services and regulated environments.
  • CCIE Or equivalent certification
  • Practical cloud-native experience (building and operating services with strong operational ownership).
  • Experience managing and deploying large-scale global networks.
