Overview

The Sales Strategy team is responsible for the design and evolution of Microsoft Advertising's sales model - owning the vision and the path forward.

Who We Are Looking for:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales Strategy to shape the future vision for MSA's scaled sales motions and drive the transformations needed to realize it across direct, agency, and partner channels. This role partners closely with Sales, Business Strategy, Field Sales Excellence, and Sales Readiness to ensure future-state strategies are aligned to our product and business ambitions while the transformations that will get us there remain grounded in the realities of how the business operates today.

This role requires a strategic and systems thinker who can envision the future of MSA's sales model and understand how that vision must translate across functions, processes, and operating mechanisms to become reality. The ideal candidate is a solid collaborator with exceptional communication, planning, and execution skills. Responsibilities
  • Sales Model Strategy: Co-own the development of MSA's durable sales model strategy, representing the scaled motions perspective and defining how direct, agency, and partner channels evolve to support future growth, customer needs, and product ambitions.
  • Sales Model Transformation: Lead the journey from strategy to execution by defining the transformation roadmap, prioritizing investments, and mobilizing cross-functional teams to build the organizational, operational, and readiness components required for successful implementation.
  • Process Improvements: Partner with key teams (e.g., Readiness, Sales Leadership, Field Sales Excellence) to drive and land enhancements in processes.
  • Sales Model Evolution: Deeply understand our omni-channel products, sales processes, and pain points. Make recommendations to evolve holistic sales model efforts to deliver MSA's Omnichannel vision.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with stakeholders across MSA to integrate the Agency Strategy and Operating Model seamlessly into internal processes and the rhythm of the business.
  • Being a Learn-it-All: Continuous education on ties to Microsoft and Industry strategies.
