What You'll Be Doing:

The Director of Sales drives the property's sales initiatives, lifestyle brand positioning, and revenue optimization. Located just outside Waikiki near the Ala Moana Center and the Hawaii Convention Center, these modern high-rise blends urban chic with traditional Hawaiian culture. The Director of Sales maximizes profitability across residential-style suites, group blocks, business travel (BT), destination leisure travel, and curated events. This leader integrates Renaissance's "Discoverer" brand ethos, turning business stays into distinct local experiences.

  • Strategic Lifestyle Sales: Execute data-driven sales plans targeting both group and business travel, positioning the Sky Deck, Nami Spa, and premium food and beverage outlets like SERA and SKY Bar as premier event locations.

  • Market Share Optimization: Drive RevPAR index growth against the Honolulu and Waikiki competitive sets (CompSets). Capitalize on proximity to the Hawaii Convention Center to capture major corporate and city-wide event blocks. Complete the annual RFP process to ensure the hotel is presenting compelling business cases and completing RFP submissions on a timely basis. Review the business travel account pricing and production at a minimum quarterly.
  • Crescent Enterprise Utilization: Maximize revenue by using Crescent Hospitality Commercial Team to enhance revenue generation, sales leads, market overviews, and overall strategies. Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies. Make reasonable recommendations to improve potential from various markets.
  • Local Partnerships & Destination Marketing: Continue to grow and form relationships with corporate accounts, destination management companies, wholesalers, travel agencies, and community entities like the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau. Responsible for the development and solicitation of business from all markets for the Renaissance Honolulu to ensure the necessary advance bookings needed for a successful and profitable operation.
  • Commercial Expectations: Direct the solicitation efforts of the sales staff through effective oral and written communication while overseeing rate, date and space commitments for group room sales within the hotels. Participate in proactive sales initiatives for the property such as prospecting, sales calls and site inspections. Participate in the weekly commercial meetings.

  • Core Competencies: Cultural awareness of the local market, high-stakes negotiation talents, and a creative eye for experiential luxury events.
  • Team Leadership & Culture: Recruit, mentor, and hold accountable a high-performing sales team, fostering Crescent Hotels' signature culture of care and hospitality.
  • Financial Reporting, Forecasting & Analytical Acumen: Deliver clear sales pipeline forecasts, market analysis, as well as budget strategies. In addition, have a keen understanding of STR reports to interpret Oahu's specific tourism fluctuations to ownership and Crescent Hotels & Resorts executive leadership.

  • Leadership and Team Expectations: Meet with and entertain clients some of which will require travel. Organize and/or attend scheduled Sales Department and related meetings. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
