About the Role

Delta Hotels by Marriott Kamloops is looking for an experienced and service-driven Director of Rooms to lead our Rooms Division operations, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and related guest experience functions. Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring exceptional guest service, strong financial performance, operational efficiency, and consistent Marriott brand standards. The ideal candidate is a confident hospitality leader who enjoys developing people, solving problems, and creating a positive experience for both guests and team members.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the daily operations of the Rooms Division, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and related operational areas.
  • Support department leaders in delivering excellent guest service, operational efficiency, and consistent brand standards.
  • Monitor guest feedback, service scores, online reviews, and operational trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop action plans to improve guest satisfaction, associate engagement, productivity, and overall performance of the departments.
  • Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, labour costs, productivity, and expenses.
  • Partner with Revenue Management, Sales, and other departments to support occupancy, revenue, and overall hotel performance.
  • Recruit, coach, train, and develop department leaders and associates.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, inclusive, and service-focused team culture.
  • Ensure compliance with Marriott standards, company policies, health and safety requirements, and employment legislation.
  • Respond to guest concerns, operational challenges, high-occupancy periods, and emergency situations as needed.
  • Participate as a member of the hotel leadership team and support property-wide initiatives.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty as required.


What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive hotel leadership experience, preferably in Rooms Division, Front Office, Housekeeping, or Hotel Operations.
  • Post-secondary education in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Marriott experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple departments and support large, diverse teams.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgets, forecasting, labour management, and productivity.
  • Demonstrated success improving guest satisfaction, service delivery, and operational performance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems, Marriott brand standards, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call requirements based on business needs.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the hotel for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to regularly access guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, back-of-house areas, and department workspaces.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull items such as supplies, equipment, or luggage up to approximately 25 lbs.
  • Ability to respond quickly to guest, operational, or emergency situations throughout the property.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced hotel environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.


Working Conditions

This position requires regular movement throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public spaces, meeting facilities, and back-of-house areas. The role involves standing, walking, lifting occasional supplies, and responding to operational issues throughout the property. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call leadership rotation is required.
